He may have been right in the past but by all accounts Roy Williams IS putting in the work it takes.
Hes made a pro bowl before so you can't act like the guy is not capable.
But Roy Williams does have a lot to prove.
I truly am glad that Roy is right now at VR on his own time, working with the QB. But that does not mean our worries are over.
Practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. More reps of sloppy routes will not improve Sunday results.
I like that Roy is putting in extra time. I just hope its with a passion, attention to detail, and openness to critique and change that yields improvement and results.
But frankly my expectations are that we have a very physically gifted WR who to this point has achieved at a level a few notches below those gifts for reasons that are totally his responsibility. I think he's a mediocre #1 WR at best.
My hope is that Roy can be one in an arsenal of weapons (Witten, Bennet, Austin, Crayton & Felix) that allows us to beat teams in multiple ways and therefore reduces dependency on any one player. I don't think he'll become a player that defenses focus on like they often did TO. I think some teams will be able to largely neutralize Roy with single coverage.
I do think that Tony Romo is a QB that makes those around him better players. Tony makes plays that allows other players to make plays. I think Romo will be good for Roy.
