DMN Blog: Practice attendance -- Roy's here, Ellis isn't

I wonder if the coaching staff and front office are this militant.

Don't you think that if it were such a big deal that player Z missed a couple of "Organized Team Activities," that someone besides the fans and journalists looking for controversy would be saying something?

I find it kind of humorous that so many of us care about missing a couple of -- cue Allen Iverson -- PRACTICES... while at the same time, most of us are at work surfing an internet message board for our favorite football team.

I've got the next three months off -- and what do I do for 8-10 hours a day, every day? I work. So, me, I don't want to hear it.

...absences in the OTAs has generated wouldn't it be easier for Wade and company to announce in advance who was going to be absent for which sessions?

Unless some family emergency comes up of course, but anything else planned in advance could be communicated to keep the media hounds at bay.

Simple press release from a team rep would suffice.

It would help to keep the number of OTA threads to a minimum.

Funny thing is, t WAS announced in advance Roy would miss last week. It didnt stop anyone lol

Roy is fat.

No, you have to do it like Gene Rayburn.

Gene: "Roy is so fat .."

Audience: "How fat is he?"

Gene: "Instead of toothpaste, he brushes his teeth with blank."

I got one, I got one.

Roy is so fat...

How fat is he?

He's so fat he could eat the internet, and if we keep bashing him on forums soon he will do just that.

No? Not funny? Not even a chuckle?

My bad.

:laugh2:

tough. there's a lot of things i don't wanna hear, so i'm told to NOT READ IT.

as if you can miss flaming billboards on the highway.

it's a stupid topic people held roy to and it's damn funny you only get "eh" now.

it speaks volumes of the hypocracy of SEARCHING for things to be mad about.

uneven application of rage. it's all the rage.

I would agree that a family emergency clearly would be a legit reason not to attend. However other than that this is your job and people should expect every single player to be there.

The team can't make them by league rule but no team really should need to force a guy to come in and put in some time with his teammates. Damn you do it this for free in high school and college and it is like pulling teeth once they get money for doing what is suppose to be fun.

If you express rage about one person but not the other, does that make you a "rageist"?

Do you intentionally ignore posts just so you can talk crap?

What do

Birth or death are the only excuses I'm taking.
mean?

I assume the death excuse would only be allowed for the death of a player.

I think Ellis has deserved time off, Roy hasn't.
Hi quincyyyyy. Bye quincyyyyy. I take it you missed us. Guess you shouldn't have been such a jerk to everyone huh?

My apologies folks, but that felt good.

You're making my head hurt. You think I want to think today?

do you think my every comment revolves around YOU? yes i reply and talk to you but i also say "people do this" in my response so i'm not just talking to you.

however - the fact this is struggling to stay alive means people are selective in their rage *and* in how they express it.

roy missed it look at the hellstorm it causes. ellis misses it people go "oh yea, i'm mad too" and go about their day. the level of rage still isn't there as it was with roy but the "lip service" is.

PEOPLE GO....

just so you know i'm not picking on you and just you.

I'm waiting to hear WHY Ellis is missing practice.

And yes, I think every comment does revolve around me.

For the record, IMO, if it is a "negotiation" tactic or a "cut me so I can make more money" tactic, then his actions are worse than Roy's.

Yup, I said it and stand by it.

Way to go out on a limb there sparky :laugh2:

The only reason I quoted you was because you're being so militant. The remainder of my post is speaking in generalities about the Willie Mob.

But I'm glad to hear you never missed a day of work for vacation, other responsibilities, commitments, etc.

The vacation thing is BS. You've got HOW many months free and clear? Maybe take a vacation then...
