No doubt Roy did get more of a reaction but his play over the past 2 seasons has not been as stellar as they had been. Ellis on the other hand turned in the best season he has had since being with the Cowboys despite the fact he missed the 1st month of the season.
As far as I'm concerned I don't think Roy missing was any worse that Ellis missing but in the end 2 wrongs don't make it right and both guys need to be out there.
I know some will say well it was an excused absences yet the fact is the team can't make them go to these OTA and should they make an issue of it then the NFLPA would come down on that team for doing it. I guess in the end what I want is for the players to want to be there not being forced to be there. I would hate to think fans want a SB more than the players.
granted. then the critique should have been "roy needs every opportunity he can get to focus" and that's hard to argue.
but it's stupid to then follow that up with ALL THE OTHER PLAYERS ARE THERE! cause than in turn changes the focus and the reason FOR being upset with roy.
why? because it's obvious they don't CARE if all other players are there because they may not need it or are playing fine and don't whine to the media. so why make that a "prop" for your argument when you can just as easily dismiss it? that's what's being done. poo-on-the-roy and what sticks matters the most what doesn't was just an attempt to see if we could make it.
ALL PLAYERS MUST BE THERE!
till others don't show then it's ROY MUST BE THERE BECAUSE OF...where it should have been to begin with.
when you use stupid ways to prop up your argument it tends to fall apart on you due to lack of focus on the issue. you LOOK like a hater when you "throw crap on roy to see what sticks" and that's what's being done.
if it doesn't stick big deal. i still hate the dude. or i still want him to play better. or i want him to have his heart back. but no accountability for just lobbing crap is ever taken cause roy is so much fun to hit anyway. and if one missed, big deal.
many of us are just tired of all the crap-lobbing, that's all. just to see what sticks so some can find justification for the anger at roy.
it's justified. people are just now "overjustifying" it and it in the ends takes away form the point.
roy is at a crossroads. no one will deny.
some of us are willing to watch and see where he goes.
many are willing to push him because they already know the ending. now to justify this - lob crap on a wall till something sticks then pretend all the other stuff doesn't matter, only what stuck.
that's what's so frustrating about all this to me.
