You won't believe this. Maybe you shouldn't. I didn't when I saw it linked on Pro Football Talk. Jeremy Shockey is reportedly being traded to the Saints. But that's not the stunning part of this news. It's who's "breaking" it.

Now, while I certainly appreciate his sentiments in the paragraph above the one with the Shockey news, I'm having a hard time swallowing that these sources are anyone but Shockey and his buddies.
This trade has been rumored for some time, so I certainly wouldn't rule it out. And after his show-stopping performance from a luxury suite at the Super Bowl -- during which he set a modern record for amount of girly drinks ordered by a pro football player -- the potential for hijinx with Shockey in the Big Easy would be off the charts.
Here's guessing Roy Williams wouldn't be heart-broken with his departure from New York either.

I know I wont be heart broken... I am sick and tired of seeing Roy being overpowered by Shockey then abused by Cooley. Makes me want to puke....

Would not be at all surprised. Shockey is a distraction for the Giants but more then that, they think Matthews is a player. They like Boss, who they drafted last year and depending on what they get for him, the Giants could well be in a position to draft a good TE prospect in this draft. They sit at the right place for that. They really have no glaring weakness so IMO. They could use a better safety tandom IMO and I don't love there LT but they are pretty solid IMO, this might be the right time to aquire future picks or take a bit of a chance. If they wanted to try and trade up for a player they valued or if they wanted to go with a # WR set, they might want to take a certain WR. Lots of reasons they might want to trade this guy. Not the least of which is the fact that he's got a huge contract, they are going to need money to sign a lot of there younger players. I could see it happening.

I haven't seen them physically abuse someone elses "All-Pro SS" with stiffarms. I haven't seen Witten stiff arm Rodney Harrison to the ground. I havent seen Polamalu intimidated before he tackled Gates, or Sean taylor be tentative before he tackled Gonzo.

Yet I have seen Roy stiffarmed, intimidated and tentaive before tackling Shockey.

Roy is supposed to be intimidating in the secondary not on everyones wishlist for single coverage.

I think, smith caught that deep out. Shockey caught that deep out in november and then they did it to reeves and williams again in the playoff game, from nearly the same spot and same situation and formation.

Also, we gave up that play in the final preseason game against minnesota, the deep out right on reeves. I think his inability to recognize the same thing in the same situation is one of the main reasons he is not here anymore.

I am about to go watch the playoff game and get started on the final segment of my video. I am going to need some tumms.

how can i just say oops when i got the "smackdown" layed on me pretend what would happen anyways? that Roy will get beat by boss like shockey used to do to him? everybody gets beat especially a fat,lazy,stupid strong safety who can't cover and plays for the cowboys.

i hear ya, man. i still haven't been able to watch that awful performance yet

I am by no means a RW fan, but I have learned to not listen to what the announcers say and not always believe what the camera angle they are showing on TV says. RW has his share of blame when the defense gets beat, but he is not the sole person back in coverage. Because we can't see the entire field on most plays, I have learned to not always believe RW was the defender, even if the TV shows him in the picture. I am hoping RW comes to came with his new number and a new workman like attitude.
