how can i just say oops when i got the "smackdown" layed on me:rolleyes: pretend what would happen anyways? that Roy will get beat by boss like shockey used to do to him? everybody gets beat especially a fat, lazy, stupid strong safety who can't cover and plays for the cowboys.

cause when you're wrong, you're wrong. changing the story is something i stopped doing in jr high.

you made a statement, it was corrected, now you're trying to ammend your statement to still be "right" when it's obvious you're wrong.

just say "damn, i was wrong on that." and get back to hating on the next thread.

I am by no means a RW fan, but I have learned to not listen to what the announcers say and not always believe what the camera angle they are showing on TV says. RW has his share of blame when the defense gets beat, but he is not the sole person back in coverage. Because we can't see the entire field on most plays, I have learned to not always believe RW was the defender, even if the TV shows him in the picture. I am hoping RW comes to came with his new number and a new workman like attitude.

as soon as it became in vogue to beat up on roy williams, EVERYONE had to get their shots in. if roy was on the screen, the haters get smart and blame him so they can be cool.

DID YOU SEE ROY? HE WAS 15 YARDS OFF! WHAT A FOOL!!!!

uh, that wasn't his coverage, so that's why he wasn't close...

suddenly the crickets come in till the next time roy is in a shot and the desire to be cool at his expense creeps in.

I think, smith caught that deep out. Shockey caught that deep out in november and then they did it to reeves and williams again in the playoff game, from nearly the same spot and same situation and formation.

Also, we gave up that play in the final preseason game against minnesota, the deep out right on reeves. I think his inability to recognize the same thing in the same situation is one of the main reasons he is not here anymore.

I am about to go watch the playoff game and get started on the final segment of my video. I am going to need some tumms.

Which is actually a really good point. It is easy to single out 'Reeves' for bad coverage, but when your playing zone coverage, 'somebody' is handing the player off to Reeves. WHo knows how many times a part of Roy's weak coverage was hidden by Reeves inept play?

The fact is, Jerry spoke about how Roy's play dropped off, and Campo was brought in and spoke about where Roy needs improvement. And Roy wants to change his number. If everything was fine and dandy, these things would never be spoken about.

No doubt. I got the idea from reading between the lines that he blew more than his share of coverages.

Put him and Roy together and it's a bad situation. :(

Be sure to have an equal number of Rolaids on hand for our offense in the second half.:

I be surprised if this is true as the Saints did inquire about Shockey but the Giants reported that he is not going any where. This according to Adam Schefter from NFL Network. Although, he has been wrong before.

When you make stupid, inaccurate claims, then yes, expect it to come back and bite you in the ***.

There's no excuse for you, clueless guy.

i thought boss was one of the giants to catch a pass in between reeves and fat boy before the half.

Obviously, you were wrong.

As usual.

it won't matter boss will beat roy just like shockey did.

Shockey has had three good games against us in six years.

This year, when he had a good game against us, he had only four catches for 23 yards against Roy. He had eight for 106 when Roy wasn't covering him.

And the only other time he had a big game against us, it was because of a 63-yard catch against Scott Fujita.

I haven't seen them physically abuse someone elses "All-Pro SS" with stiffarms. I haven't seen Witten stiff arm Rodney Harrison to the ground. I havent seen Polamalu intimidated before he tackled Gates, or Sean taylor be tentative before he tackled Gonzo.

Yet I have seen Roy stiffarmed, intimidated and tentaive before tackling Shockey.

Roy is supposed to be intimidating in the secondary not on everyones wishlist for single coverage.

Do you somehow watch replays of every other teams games? How do you know this?

I am constantly amused by people bashing the crap out of our guys, then procaliming so and so on another team to be far superior, even though they hardly ever watch said player actually play a whole game...let alone a bunch of games

Give it a rest about Williams. Roy has consistently gotten beat deap and by TE's. He hasn't been a force around the line of scrimmage as he was in the past. You don't have to take my word for it. The coaches were taking him out on obvious passing situations. That is something that shouldn't happen to a "pro-bowl" caliber player and it isn't something that should happen to a player that eats up as much cap space as he does.

Roy was "beaten deep" ONE TIME last season -- a 28-yard catch by Ben Watson. He never allowed a catch longer than that, and he never allowed another catch more than 20 yards downfield.

No, they were not. The few times Roy came out of a game, it almost always was an early down in a 3-4, single-safety defense. He played almost every single play (other than in the game he missed) on third downs, or when we were in a nickel or dime defense, or when the opponent was throwing most of the time to catch up. Those are the obvious passing situations, and Roy was on the field.

That would be scary! I've always thought that Jeremy Shockey was one of the most underused players in this league; how he doesn't average 80 catches, 1,000 yards and 8 tds a year is astounding to me. Even though I cant stand the guy as a person, he is the epitome of an idiot meathead, I have to say he is an amazing talent. If Marques Colston teamed up with Jeremy Shockey? That would suck to have to defend against.

He Did overpower and stiff arm A.J. Hawk to the ground. He pwned him a few times if IIRC.
