You dont do it out of desperation, you do it because you have a particular player want, or a player falls to a spot you feel compelled to make a move. I think you trade up of a Dez Bryant like opportunity is there. I very much against trading up just because you need a DE. You trade up if you have a guy like Takk graded in the top 15, and he falls to 20As much as I agree that we need to acquire pass rush I have to disagree about trading up unless the value is so compelling. Our history has shown us that desperate moves like that seldom results in success (Ekuban comes immediately to my mind). Teams like Pitt, NE, Ravens do not "reach". They let the draft come to them and select the best player that suits their need. We need to model after that. That's how a team is built to last via the draft.
