IRVING – Washington defensive end Jason Hatcher is well aware of his former team’s 6-1 start.

“Yeah, it’s all over the place,” Hatcher said during a Thursday conference call. “America’s Team, right?”

Hatcher, who spent the previous eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, will face his old teammates on Monday night.

Is he surprised by their hot start?

“Not at all, Coach Marinelli, I knew from the day he got the job he was going to change things around,” Hatcher … [visit site to read more]

He is speaking nothing but the truth.

I think most of that hate in Washington is generated due to the Cowboys having gotten the best of them for so many times and for so long in the past. Jealousy has always been a common cause of hate and resentment. Much the same can be said about being a division rival. I think Hatcher has a point, though. I dislike Philly somewhat more than I do the Commanders, although I probably wouldn't pee on either of them if they were on fire. -- lol

If you've been to DC......let's just say people there are different.

There is nothing I would love more, than for the Dallas fans to start chanting "Not Our Rival" while the Cowboys are dominating on the field. For those that do not know, it is what Duke fans use to chant when they played Maryland, which infuriated Maryland fans. Please, for everyone at the game, start this chant, it will make those of us that live in the DC/MD area very happy.

Meh, he didn't really say anything ridiculous in that article, but he's certainly not at liberty to speak for both fanbases.

Although I'm not surprised that they give off the impression that they hate us more than we hate them. I mean, at the moment they are a more disgruntled, negative fanbase than we are (as well they should be).

And I've got no problem with that. Hatcher spent a long time in this league making mid-level money as a mid-level player. He got his one shot at a pay day, and it came late in his career. Nothing wrong with him cashing in.

Stop waking me up Dale. He's a Cowboy but let him make his money, this a business when your on the field.

I'm pretty sure it's like that for every fan base with the Cowboys. When you're the best franchise, people envy you. Of course we don't like the Skins or Eagles, but their hatred for us is much stronger. Just think about the Houston Texans... we really don't have any rivalry with them, but before that Texans/Cowboys game this year their fans were talking so much trash. I think it's out of desperation to be relevant... it makes them look more relevant if they talk trash about the most relevant team (the Cowboys).
