I'm not saying you can't find a mega-successful quarterback in a later round. But you're much more likely to find him near the top of the draft. Never drafting a quarterback in the first-round is the Kansas City Chiefs 45-Year Rebuilding Plan.

Respectfully, if you don't have a Quarterback, then you don't have a a very good shot at winning. Regardless of where you get that Quarterback, be it round 1 or UDFA, you better have one if you want to have a chance to win a championship and there is overwhelming proof of that.

You draft back-up Safeties and Linebackers all day but they won't replace a good QB. Heck, you can take starting Defensive Players and they are not going to replace a good QB.

That's just how it is.

who says we don't have a quarterback?

OK yeah, if you are in the camp that believes that we are OK at QB, then there is no point in discussing this further.

we have one of the best quarterbacks in the league, coming back from injury. so, yeah.

but i'd also like us to take goff or wentz in the first round, just in case, because this is the time to hedge our bets against romo's health.

i just don't want us to hope that dak prescott will turn into a great passer, so we can say we got a great bargain. i remember quincy carter.

I am for taking a QB with 4 if the right guy is there but who knows what the team is thinking? My earlier post about QBs who have been successful and are not 1st round guys was simply to say that some great QBs have been guys who were not 1st round picks. I do know what the numbers reflect with QBs taken in the first round but I do wonder if that is because teams no longer spend the time to develop these guys the way they did in the old days? I understand why they don't, you simply don't have the luxury a lot of times but we are kinda unique in that area right now. As you say, we have one of the best QBs in the league and he will hopefully be around for a few years. I don't think it will be 5. I hope it's 3 more years but we will see.

I just think we need to be serious about taking a QB that will be ready to play and who gives us a chance when the time comes for Tony to enjoy his life after football. JMO
