You should take a gander at the NFL subreddit and see what every other team's fans think of his "greatness", especially after that gem of a red zone pass into triple coverage last night. There's plenty of threads about it, hard to miss.

LOL Is all I'm going to say
par for the course after a tough loss. They were singing dixy after the first two wins.

do u think it is not fair to ask ur $50,000,000 qb to win a game against a bad team when ur defense have a bad game

is that to much to ask of a $50,000,000 a year qb?

or is just “not the reaso. they lost” the standard now for $50,000,000 a year
This is a great point. I wish I said it. If you pay Dak big money then he has to play big time ball.

Saying things like “he’s not the reason we lost” is things you would say about a back up or a developmental player, not an 8 year veteran. Not a franchise QB.

By year 8 as a starter, if we are still having discussions about the "players, coaching, system, etc." around him not being good enough, it's just time to admit that he's not the guy and it's time to move on. It's insane to me that we are hoping for the defense to be so dominant that Dak can be a bus driver/game manager to justify keeping him around.
Not only justifying keeping him around but paying him 40 APY and considering 50-55 APY. What happens when we can’t afford a dominant defense to carry him because of his salary?

I'm no Dak fan but he's not the reason we lost today....
Total team loss. When the QB gets the big contract he is going to get criticism. He is expected to do better in the red zone. That was a horrible pick.

This is a lame response. Years ago the Garrett lovers made similar arguments - 'so you fire Garrett. Then what? Who replaces him? You might get a worse HC.' What you are insinuating is that Dallas should stick with Dak to the bitter end because there's a chance a replacement might suck worse.

This is a terrible reason to hang on to someone who isn't getting the job done. What did sticking with Garrett for 10 years do for the franchise?
But of course, anytime we don't go undefeated and win the Super Bowl the obvious answer is get rid of everybody... idiot...

Dak has already shown you his ceiling. He's a good guy. No, he's a GREAT guy. But he's not bringing Dallas to the promised land. Let him finish his contract through next season. See how he does, see how Trey Lance does. And if neither one of them work out, then draft a QB in April 2025. I don't know who all will be available, but I know scouts are very high on sophomore Drew Allar at Penn State. Not sure when Shedeur Sanders comes out. There are others as well; certainly the '24 and '25 draft classes will be better than '23.
Extending him would be the dumbest decision they could make..next year, eat the salary and get the bum the hell out of here and let MM pick his own QB.

I do. I refuse to go to games, even though I'm 10 minutes away.

Only way Jerry changes is if he loses money. That's all he really cares about.

So stop feeding him. Stop buying. Stop listening. Stop going. Stop fueling the fool.
You feed them too.

I say we play Dak until mid season. If he continues to be the inept QB he is, which he likely will, we pull and demote him to practice squad and promote Lance and see what he can do. If he can bring life to the team, keep him. If not, look to the draft. We need a QB, O-linemen, interior D-line, a CB, and a TE. Maybe a WR if we can afford it.
You left out the most important thing. GM.

Exactly. Many on here were WAITING on Dak to have a turnover so they can place the blame on him. I was actually at the game. McCarthy didn't give Dak a chance. Playcalling was horrible especially redzone offense. I didn't quite understand it. But...it's one game. If anyone expected them to go 17-0, I'd call them a liar. If you want to get on someone...get on the run defense.
