To me the thing that makes extending Dak tricky is Parsons future contract.

He’s gonna be the highest paid defensive player in history. Can’t also extend your QB to a massive deal without severely having to cut corners in other avenues. Obviously, if Dak was a top QB ala Mahomes, Burrow, Allen you don’t think twice. But man, I just don’t think it’s a smart thing to do to invest that type of coin into two players when one won’t be worth it.
You can’t it will cripple this teams depth. But we are talking about the Jones boys so chances are they give him another contract.

Exactly. Many on here were WAITING on Dak to have a turnover so they can place the blame on him. I was actually at the game. McCarthy didn't give Dak a chance. Playcalling was horrible especially redzone offense. I didn't quite understand it. But...it's one game. If anyone expected them to go 17-0, I'd call them a liar. If you want to get on someone...get on the run defense.
Why do you think McCarthy didn’t trust Dak?

This guy was serviceable when he was willing to use his legs earlier in his career. But he’s clearly afraid to run or just doesn’t believe he’s athletic enough.

Either way, Dak is nowhere near good enough as a pure pocket passer. He needs to be carried by the team, instead of the other way around.

It’s time to seriously start considering other options for the very near future.

Of course you extend Dak. I would think a nice long 10 year fully guaranteed ($50 mil/year) should do it. He’s got the fourth most wins since 2016 (only behind Brady, Rodgers, and Mahomes). He has TWO more than Kirk Cousins and NINE more than Goff. His total QBR was top five in 2016, 2017, and 2019 so he’s been a top five QB basically half his career (I don’t want to talk about the other years). He’s thrown for the 8th most TD passes since 2016 (3 more than Derek Carr and 9 more than Goff—he’s only 45 TDs less than Kirk Cousins in 15 less games which he could easily throw for had he played). He’s also ranked in the top ten QB’s by most media people which means he’s a top ten player and correlates to postseason success from a QB perspective. He’s a high character guy that does not show up drunk to games. He remembers to wear the correct uniform EVERY SINGLE game. I rest my case.
Rest all you want but you are wrong. The bar in Dallas is Super Bowl Championships. All the rest of that is chest thumping that no one will will remember.

With 3:22 remaining in the game down 28-16? And a defense that had 2 stops all game.
U see it all the time in the NFL. The heavy favorite finds a way to make the plays late to win it. The bad teams usually find ways to lose late (the cards did it the first 2 weeks).

And let's not act like Dallas needed some huge comeback. They were in the Red zone with nearly 5 minutes left but kept running the ball and wasting the clock because they were afraid to throw the ball.

If Dak throws a TD instead of a pick, they have plenty of time to win that game. A TD there and the doubt creeps in for the Cardinals thinking here we go again.

Actually it wasn't that he didn't trust Dak. What he said was they were playing 3 safeties back in the redzone and it's the reason he was running the ball. Here's my question...why is it you think he doesn't trust Dak. I really don't see the logic in saying he doesn't trust Dak

Some of you were just waiting on Dak to throw an int or have a fumble. You absolutely couldn't wait. No one said how Parsons and defense were slashed in the run game. You only come with HYPOTHETICALS of if it was this QB or that QB he would have scored. And what's facts are.....you don't know that. And what are facts are, Dak lead the league in interceptions LAST YEAR yet he's still has one of the lowest interception rates in the league. AND he's one of the top QBs statistically in the league since arriving. Some of you will say....we haven't won a Superbowl or to the NFC Championship game...well there are a lot of QBs that haven't that were good...ie. Dan Marino, who haven't won a Superbowl. OR, not so good QBs, ie Trent Dilfer that has won a Superbowl. Know your stats and know what you're talking about. Or better yet, you can switch to another team until they get the QB of your liking.

Dan Marino did take the Dolphins to the Superbowl which is more than Dak. Just saying.

We need Romo back. If the refs hadn’t cheated us, Romo would have five rings.

Dak has already shown you his ceiling. He's a good guy. No, he's a GREAT guy. But he's not bringing Dallas to the promised land. Let him finish his contract through next season. See how he does, see how Trey Lance does. And if neither one of them work out, then draft a QB in April 2025. I don't know who all will be available, but I know scouts are very high on sophomore Drew Allar at Penn State. Not sure when Shedeur Sanders comes out. There are others as well; certainly the '24 and '25 draft classes will be better than '23.
Well you better buy the team ! like soon ! Jones boys will extend dak and mike, and or maybe go to lance, since he is a # 1 pick.
