Do the WR math

Let's look at it from this perspective.

- Williams saves you no money if you cut him, now or designate him June 1
- Beasley saves you $3.25MM with $1MM in dead money if cut now or June 1.
- Bryant saves you $8.5MM with $8MM in dead money now, $12.5MM savings with $4MM in dead money if June 1
- Thompson would be $800K if cut with $1MM in dead money now and June 1

Switzer and Brown, if cut, don't really effect much. And you certainly aren't cutting Hurns after just adding him, he doesn't have a ton anyway.

I am very interested to see what they do at WR.

This will be Dez' last season in Dallas.

This is very likely. I believe Dez will be back this season and we won't draft a WR until the 3rd round at the earliest. If Dez returns next season depends on how things go this season.

We have looked at and evaluated too many WR's in this draft not to get one in the 1st 3 rounds. We need 5 healthy ones to start the season and it's likely Dez will be heading out of Texas in a couple of weeks. Dak needs specific types of WR's to be successful and we are
going to start the process of becoming Dak friendly.

Dak seemed pretty successful winning rookie of the year and making the pro bowl just 1 year ago...with these non Dak friendly WRs.

I don't think we should waste a draft pick on a WR. Then again, I don't want to see Dez cut. We have too many needs to add no 1 WR to the list.
if dez gets cut we need to draft a wr for sure 2nd or 3rd round but for quality it will most likely be 2nd rounder..lots of good choices will be left in the 2nd I want Chark but other will do..

Why not some TE math....Top 3 rds means Witten goes?

You think we are taking a TE in the 1st 3 rounds? And even if we do, why would that necessitate dumping Witten instead of maybe Swaim?

I seriously believe Beasly will be on the trading block draft day, maybe as help to move up in one of the rounds.. Brown shouldn't even be counted at this point as hes a movable or cuttable pawn..Twill might be traded but his injury might hurt that possibility as well but cant be cut but this current list will change A lot by Pre season..Bease/Thomas/Switzer all too much alike things will change Dez is up int he air etc etc..

all i can see that we can absolutely count on is Hurns and Switzer will be here..plus with an aging staff we must look ahead to 2019 and im not sure anyone but Switzer will still be here..it might be a priority by round 3 to get a WR now and get him ready..my guess is even witten will be gone ..2019 will be an entire fresh look at the WR/TE positions.. prepare now is what i say

Right, we held onto Dez and Witten for 1 too many years IMHO.

He should. Team being held hostage by him. And his 1/2 yard short of a 1st down routes, and his false starts.
time for him to go.

No, the team is being held hostage by the team. If the team isn't willing to work in other TE's, there are a lot bigger problems than Witten being there. Frankly I doubt Witten would even be that upset about it - I doubt he would feel cheated if he played, say, 75% of the snaps rather than 98%, or if other TE's caught a few passes a game. Witten can still be a valuable player, but he's not the elite player he once was, and the team needs to be willing to understand that and start working other TE's into the mix.

Beasley is a good trade prospect
Last year of his contract, has had production, saves 3 mil
I’d pkg Beasley with some lower picks or even a 3rd next year and a lower pick and add another second this year

So say we cut him now and somehow get beaten to the punch on a draft upgrade? What then?

Teams loading up on the run and daring Prescott to beat them with his arm?

That will work out well.

There are 2 surefire WR in the 1st and 3 to 4 pretty good potential WR in the 2nd. I think we have enough firepower to get a
WR on their invitee list at some point. Dez doesn't scare CB's any longer and teams doubling Beasley is a problem for Dak.

I think Christian Kirk will be the best one of all.
