Do we expect Dak to flounder with a tougher schedule?

Flounder? No. I expect him to play very much the same.

However, the next three teams won't flounder like the Commanders, Bears, and 49ers either. They all put up 30+ on this defense.

So he'd better play significantly better, or Dallas will be 3-4 shortly.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Football is football. He is not suddenly going to lose his mind. But what might happen is the unthinkable, which is an interception. How he reacts will be the key. Cincinnati will be the first team that gives him a bona-fide test with the rush.

And that is a lofty expectation.

The defense is the culprit if the losses grow. There are too many broken plays to lead to big gains. Sturm's article illustrated how just a couple can kill a chance to win.

That's just football now.

Look at college. Every game, it seems, is 56-51. Touchdowns today are like first downs yesterday. A punt is as good as a forfeit.

Pro football isn't as bad, but you have to score a lot to win consistently against good teams in general.

I think Dak will be fine. If Sam Bradford can beat Greenbay then I have confidence in Dak. Cincinnati is good but not a powerhouse to be afraid of. Dak will be fine

Does a bear crap in the woods?

He is a rookie he will struggle at some point, and its only logical that it will happen as the teams get tougher. That isn't a knock on the kid it happens to all QB's.

Now, he may only get 2 more games with better teams

Of course....we see any QB, including Romo "flounder" a little with a tougher schedule.
Romo or any QB would perform higher vs. bottom feeders and then dip a little versus better pass rushes, better run D, better secondaries.

That doesn't mean DAK will suddenly look like a bum, but he's not going to face a top defense and put up 100+ passer rating.

Bradford also has arguably a top 2 defense in the league.

Lets face the facts here. We are running the ball well, we are 3rd in penalties, so that means we have short 3rd down conversions. All Dak needs to do is continue his very good play on 3rd down and we will continue to thrive. If we don't have a good game penalty wise and running wise, Dak is going to have to do a bit more down the field and that will be the true test for him. Right now he is managing the game very well and most of the time been in good positions. It is a nice situation for a Rookie to be in and don't get me wrong he has done a very nice job with it

Dak may be asked to do more and take more risks when playing better teams. Especially teams with better offenses who will shred our defense.

That may mean more INTS but it also may mean more bigger plays by him.

I don't but it depends on your definition. He's already light years ahead of the average rookie QB. He's improving every game which is not always found in the #'s.

There are many who keep saying this. We seem to be waiting for something to stump him. He's gaining confidence in each game . He's bound to throw an Int at some point and look more like a Rookie.

Is this the game against a playoff caliber team where it shows it's ugly face or will he continue to play at a Pro Bowl level?
If we have to play catch up at the end then yes we will see an IT. However, if we can be leading at the end then I would say NO ITs, and Zeke becomes the running leader in the league.

I expect if Dallas can continue to run a balanced offense that Dak will be fine but winning these games vs top opponents can't rest all on Dak. Dallas running game can help create down and distance situation that keep Dak in manageable situation. I think too many place the entire burden on the shoulders of 1. In the Cowboys wins it has not been Dak alone, he of course contributes to it but it has taken good play from the running game and to a certain extent the defense coming up with some big plays of their own to get the ball back into the hands of the offense and creating turnovers.

veteran QB's throw picks all the time. I expect our defense to get exposed more against these better teams so there will be more pressure to score more points. A la romo always having to do everything and never make a mistake.

No doubt the minute we lose the Dak haters will claim Romo would have won and it was Dak's fault. For my money I will simply analyze based on facts and what happens on the field. If Daks messes up then he messes up.
