Do we expect Dak to flounder with a tougher schedule?

Every QB has a bad day!

Dak's day will come, we just shouldn't over react when it does.

He is the FUTURE
Thats the key. Prescott will have rough patches. I am sure everybody understands that. He is still a raw college kid and needs time to really develop.

What's hilarious is that some people read way into stats like QBR, W/L, TD's, Pics to measure a QB.
I don't think they measure pocket presence or awareness, leadership, ball protection, escape-ability to lengthen the play, ability to effectively control/manage the offense, ability to read defenses, patience to not force errors and play fakes (like play action). Montana was a master at this.
Not saying Dak is Montana (long ways from it), yet he looks to have most of these unmeasurable traits. He has his work cut out for him in the off season to improve but he's looking like he carries the foundation of a NFL starter.

Those aren't even remotely equal in terms of value.

equal in value? If Dallas can run the ball and keep us in favorable down and distance so that Dak is not facing 3rd and long then chances of him having success are very good. That RB value to this team is big because it allows the Cowboys to dictate to opposing defense.

I don't know what is going to happen.

I'd like to see Dak take the ball from under center and drop back 5 and 7 steps and deliver the ball down the field. He has played well but the reason we got back in the ballgame against the 49ers is because we got back to running the football.

The offenses we are about to see are going to score points on us. These offenses are not going to miss wide open receivers like the Commanders and 49ers did.

I've stated before that I love Dak and what he has done considering how young he is but I also would like to see this offense open up. In my opinion it's going to have to open up in order for us to win against these teams we play coming up.

Romos floundered with the season on the line the past 10 years. What is going to change? Absolutely nothing. Give the kid the job and run with him

Fibonacci says what goes up must come down and vice versa. The question is how far will he come down? I think he comes back down to earth, but it's a controlled landing and then he continues back on an upward trend. If I were a stock trader, I would buy on his first dip.

Well not him per say, but I still think the team is in for some rough games after a handful of easy ones. Dak is a rookie, so expecting rookie mistakes as a sort of given.

You guys say he beat these scrub team. But we had NFL vets on this squad that couldn't beat anyone with a better defense. To me it's getting to the point where we are reaching for flaws.

Dak is going to have a bad game at some point and will certainly throw an INT and more than one but I want to see how he responds to a bad game and if he can rebound from it. It's easy when things are going well but the true test for any athlete/team is when they face some adversity and are able to bounce back. There's going to be a game, likely more than one where things aren't going Daks way and I want to see how he responds and if he can maintain the poise he's shown all season or if his game starts to come unglued.

Bradford also has arguably a top 2 defense in the league.

So much this, SD. The Vikings and Cowboys should never be compared in the same sentence (purely due to defense). I was perplexed when I saw his post, too. MIN is a top 3 NFC contender, based almost exclusively off their D. And Bradford has been making all the throws he's needed too.

Those who use the teams we've played as a reason for Daks solid play are being ridiculous. He's a rookie and there's no cakewalks out there in a league as competitive as the NFL. We were 4-12 last season and one of our losses was to an 0-3 Saints team. Every team we've played this season has a win and we just overcame a 14 point deficit on the road. You spot any team 14 points especially on the road, playing with a rookie QB and you'll lose most of the time. Despite the deficit Dak maintained his poise throughout the game and made a huge play with the game on the line.

And we have the #1 RB in the league

Just. No. Dude. MIN's D and Zeke are not offsetting attributes, as awesome as Zeke has been. Not even close. MIN's D can win them a championship, a la DEN 2015. Zeke won't singlehandedly win us a championship. He can be a key piece, but that MIN D is a well oiled machine. And Bradford is playing better than Osweiler/Manning did at any point last season. MIN is a bonafide contender.

If he flounders, so be it. That's how one learns. I've seen enough of him already to know what we have in him and I particularly like his work ethic and leadership qualities. He's our futures at the position.

I think Dak will be fine. If Sam Bradford can beat Greenbay then I have confidence in Dak. Cincinnati is good but not a powerhouse to be afraid of. Dak will be fine

Like someone mentioned Minn has a defense and Rodgers will shred us without a pass rush. Dak could play lights out and we'll never win that game unless our defense gets after Rodgers. You give him time to throw and it will end up being a long day. As for Cinn, AJ Green is one of the top WRs in the game and any team that has a dynamic receiver is going to be a big concern due to our lack of a pass rush. We have issues in coverage and Green could have a huge game if our defense doesn't step up.

Football Outsiders has us with the 29th hardest schedule to date and the 3rd hardest schedule for the rest of the season. It will get tougher. The team as a whole, and Dak in particular, will probably look worse when facing better competition. None of this should surprise us when it happens. The bigger surprise will be if we look as good as we've looked so far, because that will mean we're actually playing even better. Here's hoping the team keeps growing and jelling.

I'm hoping Mo continues to shine and at least partially removes Green from the equation. Now, Atkins and Co could present itself as a separate problem, especially now with our increasing injuries across the Oline (God willing, we have Tyron). Dak and Zeke will need to have an amazing game, and CIN will most certainly be game-planning to remove Zeke and make Dak beat them. I have faith that he can do it (he hasn't shown otherwise), but can our D uphold their end... that is the question. We need a huge game from Clai.

He will have his ups and downs, and he will learn from the downs.

Yup. There's eventually going to be a DC that picks up on something that nobody had noticed to that point. I mean, look what Philly did to Big Ben and Pitt. If you played that game again today, I'm confident it would be a really close game, now that Pitt had a chance to go back and see what happened. But that week, Philly had their card. We see it all the time with vet QBs/offenses, so it only makes sense it will happen for a rookie.

And many (including some in here) will take the opportunity to say, "See, when the Cowboys actually played a good defense, Dak couldn't handle it."

Everyone goes through a bad game. But you don't measure a quarterback on a bad game here or there. Rather, you measure him on his overall consistency, i.e., more good games than bad. And right now, Dak has put up four good games as a rookie. The first game was still a good game for him even though we didn't win. We were in the game until the very end and had a chance to win. And this with a rookie quarterback.

He's building a case for us giving him a pass should he have a bad outing.

Everyone will try and take the run away and make Dak beat them. Mo has improved a lot this season and a lot of his improvement is due to staying healthy but he still plays not to get beat most of the time. He doesn't press receivers and will give Green plenty of cushion. I don't see Green being removed from the situation unless we can somehow get pressure on Dalton. No one can stay with Green for long, he has too much speed and with his height he can win contested battles.

Come on man. You can't possibly think a RB, even one as good as Zeke, is as valuable as an entire defensive unit that is top 2 in the league. I'm not trying to take anything away from Zeke, but there is a big difference in overall value.

If you ask any team in the league if they'd rather have a top RB or top defense, what do you think they'd take?
