Do we expect Dak to flounder with a tougher schedule?

Everyone will try and take the run away and make Dak beat them. Mo has improved a lot this season and a lot of his improvement is due to staying healthy but he still plays not to get beat most of the time. He doesn't press receivers and will give Green plenty of cushion. I don't see Green being removed from the situation unless we can somehow get pressure on Dalton. No one can stay with Green for long, he has too much speed and with his height he can win contested battles.

SF tried to remove Zeke and it didn't work, so here's to another team getting gashed by our guy.

Mo may not play press like he was advertised to do (coming out of college) but he's getting better. He has been beat, and only due to a couple over throws, was he saved. But he has been our absolute best DB, and his confidence has been growing each game. I think there's a strong chance that he plays a very effective game against Green. Morris is incredibly physical, and perhaps that closes the gap against Green's advantage in speed. But I do agree, Mo has been phenomenal in Zone, less so in press.

Without Green, Dalton is a pure bus driver and Marinelli might be able to successfully scheme against the Bengals O. I really hope Mo has a statement game (I think it's very likely), as shutting down Green will give him even more national attention for the season he's had thus far (for those that care about such things).

Come on man. You can't possibly think a RB, even one as good as Zeke, is as valuable as an entire defensive unit that is top 2 in the league. I'm not trying to take anything away from Zeke, but there is a big difference in overall value.

If you ask any team in the league if they'd rather have a top RB or top defense, what do you think they'd take?

Not trying to say RB compared to an entire defense what I am saying is Dallas ability to run keeps Dak is great situations it helps control the clock and keeps our defense off the field. Dallas running game is a major key for this teams success. How can Cowboys beat a team like Minn with a very good defense? By running the ball on them and not allow them to tee off on Dak.

Fair enough. We are in agreement then.

Dak has played well on the road at Death Valley and in Tuscaloosa. If he survived the SEC, he will do fine against better NFL teams. I do think though that some here are afraid of their own shadows.

Yep. And I expect either one of two things to happen

1. A select few here give Dak the excuses they would never dream giving Romo

2. Everyone starts to scream for Romo to come back.

Green already has almost 500 receiving yards in 4 games and has 2 plays over 50 yards. We're going to have to double him most of the time and anytime it takes 2 defenders to cover a receiver it opens up opportunities for other receivers. Regardless how well our offense plays, our defense is going to keep games close. We're going to be in dogfights all season. As for Dalton he's not a real productive QB but he's solid and has been solid this season. Any QB can look good against us and Dalton is more than capable of having a big game against our defense especially having Green as a target.

There are many who keep saying this. We seem to be waiting for something to stump him. He's gaining confidence in each game . He's bound to throw an Int at some point and look more like a Rookie.

Is this the game against a playoff caliber team where it shows it's ugly face or will he continue to play at a Pro Bowl level?
I think he'll respond like he did when pressed into service against Seattle...given a solid running game, I think he'll continue to flourish. If pressed into throwing it 40+ times (like he did against Giants), then I think he will struggle, which he did there in the second half as Giants brought more and more pressure. Even under that scenario, his performance was far from bad and he almost led a great comeback. I have faith in his leadership abilities to overcome whatever adversity comes his way.

Dak has started 4 NFL games. Are you not impressed? Should he be evaluated on the exact same curve as a 14 year vet?

Being impressed with Dak does not mean he should start once Romo gets back. I like Dak's poise, his leadership. But there is more to the QB position than that.

Can someone point to me where Dak has made a tough throw? Has Dak had to fit a ball into an extremely tight window, or make a precision pass over the top of a defender so only a WR could snatch it? How many deep passes has he had? When are they coming and why have they yet to happen? Has Williams and Dez never gotten open down the field or is Dak simply not seeing it or afraid to go deep?

Our offense under Dak is conservative. I'm not into this game managing crap, you're not winning games that way unless you have a great D. We don't. As for if he should be evaluated like a 14 year old vet, that's not really the point. This is about if Dak gives us a better chance at winning than a healthy Romo. Dak has to show a lot more these next two weeks to prove he's the better option.

This entire team may suffer setbacks..

not just DAK.

It's a team sport.

If the other team is better..

we have to live with it.

This is not a reason for concern.

We are still lacking with injuries and missing starter by suspension.

Let's see what happens.

The skk has not fallen, Chicken Little.

Were you around for Cassell/Weeden? How did that work out? We haven't started 3-1 in about 8 years. What part of 4 NFL STARTS isn't registering? Most Rookies don't even start let alone win. You still never addressed my point. Why are you grading him on the same curve as a 14 year vet? Romo didn't see the field for his first 3 years.

We're 3-1 because of the TEAM, and primarily because we have an OL that provides great pass protection and fuels an overwhelming run game. We would be 3-1 with John Stephen Jones at QB.

Kid's got a big arm, I'd like to see play action and a bomb to Butler once a game.

Very true but the QB is the conductor. We all know this. We had damn near the same TEAM last year and won 1 game without Romo. That's 1... UNO..
