OL is top 5 with all the 1st round picks playing healthy. They havent all been healthy in a long time but I'm guessing they'll start the season that way, Martin absence seems precautionary (correct me if I'm wrong).
The CBs aren't there yet. I think they might be a top 10 unit but they must start getting interceptions. Jones looked real good for a lot of last year and Awuzie looks like he could surpass Jones as early as 2019, but intercept the damn ball.
LBs are a top 3 unit. They're in the conversation of the best but it takes A LOT to be absolutely, hands down, the best LB group.
opposing teams are not afraid of challenging our CBs because they have very little
fear of them INT' ing the ball.
at the worst, the throw will be just knocked down as a pass defense, and QBs can always come back and try it all again.
Jones NEVER plays the ball as to INT it. and I'm doubting he has hands and instincts for it.
his only two mere
career INTs have off a batted, tipped ball for a runback INT (vs skins) and off a hail mary end zone pick.
And i'm leery that this current hip issue may leave him less of a player than what he was in coverage last year. It's a wait and see period.
and Awuzie spends too much time with his head not turned around to make a play on it, how would he have a chance to be in position to make a play on the ball in flight ?
Only 3 career INT in college and only 2 career INTs in two years at the NFL level ?
Neither CBs sounds like ball hawk types. and that limits the defense that needs far more of the turnover factor.
