Do we need a 4th QB in here?

Parcells said today, BOTH need to show improvement.

I could remind certain people that last year, up until the last two weeks, Romo looked awful, Henson looked much better and EVERYBODY at camp was wondering which vet we were bringing in to replace Romo.

I just find it so ironic that those preaching patience for Carter are writing off Henson, coincidence?

If either of them were a 5 year vet or more, I would be worried. But last season was Romo's second TC and he started off very rusty. This is Henson's second.

I doubt, as Dale said, it is as though he has regressed. I think too many people just expected him to push Bledsoe this soon. When he is still getting used to the NFL in his second year, it is a bit too early to make any judgement on him, calling him a bust or savior.

There are plenty of guys out there with upside. It's only a matter of time IMO.

Lets start a list. I personally don't think there are plenty of QBs out there with upside.

I think anyone with upside is in a camp right now.

BP said he considered a 4th but he wanted to maximize reps for Henson/Romo. Also said that could be too much work.

You don't really want to see Henson/Romo in there if Bledsoe gets hurt. Remember Hutch.

We have Crayton and Dantzler in camp, if we need to give anybody a day off there is no reason they can't take some 3rd team reps.

I'm sure the receivers would really love that.

Logic?

Facts?

Now where would this agenda be using those?;)

I thikn this camp will tell us alot about Henson/Romo. If BP doesnt bring in anyone else, he obviously believes one of these guys can do the job if Bledsoe goes down.

I alwaysliked Henson for some reason, but doesnt Romo have that Cowboys QB name...

Roger Staubach, Danny White, Troy Aikman, Tony Romo...it kinda has that ring to it, know what i mean

No I dont.

Testaverde, Couch, Kordell ... all have much more upside than the deer-in-the-headlights bozo Henson ...

Not another developmental type.

Exactly. We have enough green qbs already.

I'd do whatever I could to get

Matt Schaub

He's still too green. We need a vet although I like Schaub. I like him a lot better than Henson/Romo.

It's too late for another young developmental QB...we will eventually have to suck it up and draft one. I think Henson and Romo both suck and will never amount to anything more than career backups if lucky, but I'm still in the minority here, if not totally alone.

I would have brought in a vet backup, kept Henson 3rd string for another year, and jettisoned Romo.

But that's me.

It's not just you, it's me too. But isn't Henson already 3rd string to Romo?

There's been a former DallasCowboy QB siting in a local Dallas restaurant just before the Cowboys left for Oxnard.

I'll wait another week before I reveal his name. Stay tuned, still gathering information

I hope it's the right one.

Don't be mad because your agenda of Henson being the next Staubach/Aikman doesn't look like it's going to pan out ... the fact that he looks lost speaks volumes about what I've been saying all along and what you've been saying.

As I've said time after time my agenda is the team. Though it is obvious your capacity to grasp this concept doesn't exist. You're still blinded by the 5 year old scouting report. I, on the other hand, have 'kept it real' about Henson.

No we don't need a 4th QB the whole intent by Parcells was is to allow both of the young QB's to get these extra reps as for Henson he is not suffering from a dead arm.

Henson's not ready to beat out Romo yet, of course we another qb, or do you want waste all of our new defensive talent by going 0-16 if Bledsoe gets hurt.

I liked Wright in limited action, although he was clearly in over his head in that Christmas night season finale against the Titans a few years back.

Not to say I think he's a franchise type QB, but Wright should have been given some of the chances that QC squandered if you ask me.

If I remember correctly QC was not overmatched against the Commanders in 2001, he beat the Commanders. Wright at his best would be only good enough to backup QC.

Well, I have to agree Waff. You know, sometimes things happen and you look at it and say to yourself, "That aint right." That's how I feel about Wright. I understand why the team did what they did but it just doesn't make it look any better to me. Of all the QBs Dallas has had since Aikman retired, I have always felt as if Wright had the most to ***** about. He really did nothing to merrit release. He never got beat out and he never caused problems. Even when the team screwed him, he never had anything bad to say. Unfortunate is all I can say. He deserved better in my book.

Yes he did deserve better. He should have been QC's backup in 2002, while Hutch should never been on the team. We wouldn't have been in this mess, if things had stayed that way.

Testaverde has no upside. I'd say all he has left is downside. Would he be a consideration as a vet option? Yes. He's not going to get better and he isn't going to be around long.

Couch? The same Couch that can't get a job? If you want to talk about busts.....

Kordell? Upside? Classic never was and he is old as well. Dallas doesn't need him crying on the sideline.

I am all for bringing a guy in if need be, but it does need to be either a guy with upside, which none of those guys have, or a solid vet like Vinny.

Well, thats better than what Carter is now. Maybe if Charles was speaking of Stoerner, Carter can sign up to take his place on the Desperados.

Wright is on the Raven's roster.

Doesn't Stoerner play for the Desperados? That would be shocking if he was in a bar in Dallas.

I am sure Vinny is on speed dial.

If the team considers bringing back QC, I will deem the offseason a failure irregardless of whatever else the team did. That guy is a waste of space.

Have I covered all the options? Rodney Peete? Beurlein? Kosar? :D

Whats Ryan Leaf doing?

You consider a waste of space a qb who had a 98 qb rating last year. Another year of current qb's and you'll be rethinking your position on QC. We'll be talking about the good ole days when we had a winning season.
