Do we need a weekly running account of Dez Bryant

We need a lead dog

Even a Sterling Sheppard. Someone who can get open

Uh....Beasley is always open. Dez just has trouble with the GIants. Switz will get open once we use him (he was mainly a pr/kr last night). TWill had no trouble getting open. He was great last night vs an elite secondary. As I said, Dak missed alot of throws. Not wr's fault.

Still not an elite WR, though. Julio Jones gets bracketed. Antonio Brown gets doubled; as does OBJ.

Only difference is that those WR get open play after play, despite that coverage.

I used to think lack of opportunity was the reason Dez wasn't as productive as the others. But that's not the case. He just doesn't have the separtion ability to be as effective as the elites.

Want to throw up a fade so he can outjump someone? Dez is your guy. But he's not nearly the same level as the best guys as a complete WR.

Well that's kind of the point of these giant WR's.. They aren't as good at getting separation but they make more plays on the ball when they are heavily covered.

Julio Jones isn't making corners fall down when he runs a route.

I think what Dez is best at is his YAC ability but we rarely just put the ball in his hands.

I think we have the best YAC WR in the NFL but he's too busy running 40 yard go routes all the time.

Butler outplayed Dez yesterday. Beas outplayed Dez yesterday. It would be nice if Dez played up to his contact but that really seems to be wishful thinking.

Dak overthrew Dez on a few passes. Dez would have had around 100 yds if Dak connected.

Dez is overrated and overpaid. He's good, but not great.

Good corners control him. That doesn't happen to Brown, Julio, etc.

Romo made him appear great with those back shoulders throws. Romo made a lot of multi-millionaires out of a lot of receivers.
Julio was taken out of yesterday's game by the bears garbage corners.

Dez had a bigger impact on the game vs a high paid corner than AJ Green did yesterday against the Ravens.

Yeah.

He didn't always see Dez getting open. Mainly because he had to worry about blitzes or Olivier Vernon or JPP.

It's not hard to comprehend.

Well...it is for some.

Interesting. So Dak overcame all that pressure and was able to throw it to Dez while blanketed by a CB? But the pressure was the reason he couldn't get the ball to Dez since he was apparently open all night? Man, now that just seems like bad strategy.

Wow, I'd ask you to share some of your football knowledge with me, but I'm not sure I could comprehend it!

Wonder why we can't get Dez to run a comeback route. Seems all his routes are 34-40 yds down on the sideline. Unless he did, and Dak just didn't find him.

Dez is open on a lot of routes, Dak just doesnt seem to get him the ball. People make it seem as if Dez was just getting destroyed.

How wide open was Dez on the crossing routes that they completed to him?

He wasn't blanketed by the receiver.

Was he blanketed on the easy TD throw that sailed over his head?

No.

Was he blanketed by Jenkins when he juked him out of his shoes and Jenkins stumbled and Dez was WIDE open for a TD?

No.

Was he blanketed on the corner route that Dak missed because JPP had pressured Dak?

No.

I refuse to share football knowledge with you because like Goodell, you're just willfully ignorant about it because it doesn't fit your vendetta.

Dez was open all game last night. He just didn't get the ball delivered to him.

He can't throw it to himself.

Anybody who doesn't think Dez is an elite WR really exposes their lack of understanding of the game.

I agree with the first part but not the second.

Dez isn't an elite WR. He isn't on AB or Julio level. Those guys are truly elite.

But Dez is good enough, and he had a better game yesterday than he's getting credit for.

Jenkins played him really tough and got away with more than he should have.

You either have an anti Dez agenda or you don't understand this sport at all.
Anyone with any knowledge of the sport at all would clearly see Butler and T Will have the success they do because they are on the other side of the field where safety help isn't rolled to them...or they are running quick hit underneath routes.

Let's see... is this one Dez's fault?

Or this one?

Or the one Dak threw out of bounds on 3rd down?

Not a great fade pass as it was late. Was this his fault too?

Good grief, fellas.

Dez just can't get separation, and he doesn't run many routes. You have to just throw it up and trust he'll get it. Dak isn't as willing to do that as Romo was.

You mean with the ball that went right through his hands - that kind of outplayed?

The fade should be outlawed

He was routinely getting open and beating Jenkins all game long. He may not be as good as Julio or AB, but that doesn't mean he's not elite.

There's not a single coach nor player worth their salt in the NFL that doesn't believe Dez is not elite. He is somebody that every opponent greatly accounts for and is afraid of enough to double each game with various coverage shells and opponents make sure to brag about it any time they believe they shut him down. You don't do that for the Golden Tate's and PIerre Garcon's of the world.
