Do we need a weekly running account of Dez Bryant

He wasn't blanketed by the receiver.

Was he blanketed on the easy TD throw that sailed over his head?

No.

Was he blanketed by Jenkins when he juked him out of his shoes and Jenkins stumbled and Dez was WIDE open for a TD?

No.

Was he blanketed on the corner route that Dak missed because JPP had pressured Dak?

No.

I refuse to share football knowledge with you because like Goodell, you're just willfully ignorant about it because it doesn't fit your vendetta.

So you, in your Godlike football wisdom, honestly believe Dez Bryant is the same caliber WR as Jones, Bryant, or OBJ? Or heck even AJ Green?

If the answer is yes, then we have nothing else to speak about.

I enjoy a good debate, but not if that is the baseline we are working with.

I have no vendetta whatsoever. That's ridiculous to even say. For what it's worth - I don't even think Dez had a bad game.

You either have an anti Dez agenda or you don't understand this sport at all.
Anyone with any knowledge of the sport at all would clearly see Butler and T Will have the success they do because they are on the other side of the field where safety help isn't rolled to them...or they are running quick hit underneath routes.

Dez is good, but c'mon. He runs by nobody. His routes are rounded and vague. He is very limited in the scope of what he can do. Sure, he can learn a couple of plays during the week to give a different look, but you never see him lining up all over the place like Brown. He doesn't read and adjust his routes, so he's limited that way.

Still very useful, but not an elite receiver.

I agree with the first part but not the second.

Dez isn't an elite WR. He isn't on AB or Julio level. Those guys are truly elite.

But Dez is good enough, and he had a better game yesterday than he's getting credit for.

Jenkins played him really tough and got away with more than he should have.

Do you watch those guys play though and not think that the system they are in has something to do with it?

I agree that Julio and AB perform at a higher level but IMO after that Dez is just as good as any of those guys.

Yeah Odell can run routes better but he doesn't have the beast factor that Dez has.

Give me the Demaryius Thomas, Dez, Julio, Mike Evans, and AJ Green types over the shifty guys. Especially in our offense that doesn't spam short passes to our #1.

Dez is a Touchdown guy. He's better then anyone at it when healthy.

Brown isn't doing that here either.

OBJ isn't better than Dez, AJ, Mike Evans, or even Demaryius Thomas imo.

Is he a better route runner? Yeah. That's where it stops for me. They are all just better physical talents then him.

I believe he's up there with Green and furthermore they are used in far different systems that are designed specifically to get them in advantageous situations against lesser corners. If Jones, Brown, OBJ, Green, Hopkins, etc. were playing for Dallas in Dez's spot they would be doing the same thing...leading the league in Go Routes ran each year and being utilized to stretch the field to open up running lanes and to clear out defenses for Beasley and Witten underneath.

I have no reason to discuss football with you because you have no intellectual honesty in discussing it. Dez was open frequently all night despite being bracketed and you expect him to catch passes that weren't delivered to him. There is no defender or coach in the NFL that doesn't believe Dez is not an elite WR in this game. He was ranked, by the players, as the 60th best player in the NFL despite being badly injured in 2015 and injured in 2016.

But hey, what do they know...jwooten15 says differently.

2 catches for 43 yards.

1 pass interference to get them the TD.

One overthrow from Dak which would have been an easy TD.

Another interference not called where he would have had a TD.

Many Dez bashers, year after year says he has games where he does not have an effect and without these sides notes they would point to this game as well.....
In my book a true number one receiver is consistently good week in and week out. Dez does have some good to great games and then he has some not so good to bad games. Go Cowboys

I didn't watch the game, but the people here are calling it a BS PI call. Was it?

btw, Dez is not a great WR. Guy vanishes all the time. That said, he was far more effective with Romo at QB, but then again. Romo is a far better passer than Dak.

Antonio Brown.

Yeah.. JAson Garrett is not lining up Antonio Brown and manufacturing passes to him like the Steelers do.

We have a system, every player has their role, and that's just how we play it.

Not even TO got used to his biggest strengths and he's one of the best to ever play.

Really? OBJ is much quicker than Dez, and runs much better routes. He's faster and has much better hands. I can't stand the guy, but he's a superior player to Dez.

Lol. Everyone who's saying Dez doesn't have an effect on games just looks at his stats. Plain and simple. Their opinions on this matter mean very little.
