Do we sign Adrian Peterson next season? (assuming Murray is gone)

I know whose stock is at an all-time high and whose is at an all-time low.

And I think you do too.

I don't disagree regarding whose stock is up/down. I'm just saying that I've seen enough aging players who have put up some big numbers in previous years land stupid money contracts. The Oakland Raiders and Jerry Jones come immediately to mind. I think the odds favor that you are correct in terms of his value, but not enough for me to bet on it.

It's somewhat doubtful that AP would be willing to take what the Cowboys could afford in 2015 and Murray might very well present the same problem. I wouldn't be too surprised if we were forced to draft another RB next year.

No question in my mind that he's some sort of factor.

He's either a bargaining chip in any negotiations with Murray, or Murray simply costs too much and the Cowboys sign Peterson on the cheap while he tries to rebuild his career.

If they don't resign Murray, the Cowboys will have several options next year - Peterson, Ingram, Lynch, Spiller, etc.

The draft too!

Murray first, Lynch second.

Drafting is an option but far from a sure thing. I have heard how Tashard Choice was the real thing fail, Julius Jones, nope. Barber? nope Finding a quality all around RB is not that easy and like many other position have their own bust rate. I hope Cowboys find a way to keep Murray

When can teams sign free agents in 2015? It is usually in March. Unless things change Peterson's suspension won't end until April 15th. Dallas and every team will be in the midst of signing free agents and gearing up for the draft on April 30th. That doesn't leave a lot of time for Peterson to visit interested clubs and get a deal done.

We need an Adrian Peterson subforum.

My position on him hasn't changed. Rather re-up Murray, but AP would be a good consolidation prize if we let Murray walk.

He may be better, but his baggage would not fit on this team. It would be a media storm.

good point but we did draft Murray and he was not sure thing with his extensive injury history, just because we missed on a couple of picks doesnt mean we shouldnt draft one again.

If DeMarco Murray gains 109 yards in the next game he will surpass the amount of yards Adrian Peterson has accumulated in the 2013 and 2014 seasons combined. :D

I think it's possible if he gets counseling, which he will probably be req'd to do. He and Randle would make a NICE combo. Hey, I don't want to lose Murray but he's going to want too much money. IF he finishes this season healthy, it would be his first full season in the league. Just too rich considering we have Dez and others to sign. Thoughts?

Man, not discussed this in what, minutes?

I think it's safe to say that our starting RB next season will be either Peterson or Murray... which I'm completely fine with either.

This is all contingent on Minnesota cutting him. Lets see if that happens before putting a star on his helmet. With that being said, AP would be more likely to sign for a cap friendly deal then Murray. We are much closer to a Superbowl then Minnesota. This may intrigue him. This O-Line with AP behind it. Defenses would now have to gameplan against him more so then murray. You put Dez into the mix. Wow. Unless we managed to keep dez murray and sign AP. HAHAH Just kidding

His cap number next year for Minny is $17 million.......................and none of that is guaranteed....................no way in hell he is not released unless Minny is just stupid, nobody pays a RB $17 million in todays NFL.
