Do you care if we resign Dak?

Nope.

My baby brother scheduled an out of the country trip last year with his family to visit his wife’s brother’s family during the playoffs and the flight was during the playoff game. I asked him why he did that because he’s going to miss the playoff game. He said it doesn’t matter because it’s just going to be the same result as last year, i.e., that Dak and the team was going to choke. So while he was on the flight, I watched him being right until half time when I turned it off.

Only if he can prove this year that he can win the big games against better teams and go far into the playoffs. Other than that, he can walk.

Huge advantage of winning in the regular season? Dude wend down and had Cooper Rush start and win games. So no, he doesn't have the advantage folks thinks he does in the regular season.
QBs simply don't put forth favorable results when they're injured. Cooper Rush becomes a statue when confronted with a capable pass rush and has a very average arm that lends itself to trouble vs. good teams. I have no illusions about Rush being superior to Dak in performance.

At this point, does it matter what we even think? We all know they are gonna resign Dak. Its a given.

Dak has become less reliable at escaping the pass rush. Heck wasn't it against Atlanta that he was sacked so many times the Atlanta Defensive End sent him flowers the next day? In comparison the drop off between Rush and Prescott when faced with a competent defense isn't enough to where Dak is going to lead you past the better defense.

I've seen Rush freeze far too many times vs. a good pass rush to think he's acceptable as a starter. Dak's problems vs. the pass rush had just gotten progressively worse, largely due to the OL becoming far less reliable in their pass protection last year. I seriously doubt Rush would fare better in a playoff situation than Dak has, though. I really feel both Dak and Rush are quite limited vs. the best pass rush teams. Most QBs are -- few aren't.

With you and your baby brother’s attitude, I don’t know why you even bother following the team. I’m surprised you even watched the first half of the playoff game. If I felt like both of you, I would find something else to do on NFL Sundays and wouldn’t spend a minute of my time on a board like this. I’m down on the team myself and have been for a very long time, but I don’t give up hope on anything. I followed the Cowboys when they were at the very bottom and didn’t give up hope then. Until the team builds a championship defense that shows up in the playoffs, nothing will ever change regardless the QB or what we do offensively.

I never said Rush would fare better. I said between the two the difference in outcome isn't going to be that far off. If you are getting almost the same outcome minus what 30 - 40 million in price tag, just what the hell are you paying for?

Can the rest of the team carry Dak to the Super Bowl?
Because if they re-sign Dak they will have to field a team that can win big games without being dependent on their quarterback to make the difference.

KJJ you don't have to regurgitate you and other Dak-is-more-important-than-the-team homers' well-known attitude of deflection onto every other part of the team for Dak's mediocre play in the playoffs into some weird patronizing post about some people you don't know in real life's fan-ship. Every regular on this forum knows where you stand.

The sentiments on this site about Dak are all over the place. Like him or not, he does give us the best chance to win THIS SEASON as long as Lamb returns and the OL is as good as expected.
As long as Lamb returns? I'm a bit confused. Which QB gives us a better chance of winning if Lamb Doesn't return?

It is rather obvious that Jerry and Stephen have a plan on how they want to sign our main 3 in Dak, Ceedee and Micah. Based on the explanation from a number of sites, it makes good sense both in business and football. And for those that believe that Jerry is willing to tank the season and/or let Dak go for nothing but a 3rd round comp pick next year then they haven't studied any of the history of Dallas with Jones.
Contrary to what some believe, this isn't rocket science that only a genius can figure out. It's basic math, window of opportunity, VS the cap. Anyone willing to pay attention to what they are doing, and what they have done., can see it's not good business or football sense.

The only thing they're done right so far is sign Diggs at the appropriate time. Then they skipped a beat. They can recover, but they can't take that skip away. It will cost them.

Not many athletes do. Romo and zeke did and suffered fans' derision.

Rush is an A1 QB mentally, but simply does not have the physical skillset to play NFL QB. His arm is far below average.

I do care, because if we overpay Dak, we're just not going anywhere. Can't win w/ Dak at 50+ mil/season. Unless he drops his narcissistic act and signs a long term deal where we can pay him down the road and use the money to build a playoff caliber D. He'd have to stop being selfish though, not sure that's possible.

He’s the most important player we have. If you can’t see that you’re following the wrong sport. His play in the playoffs has been better than a lot of the players around him especially on the defensive side of the ball. Every regular on this forum that has a clue knows that I know what I’m talking about. My posting history will back that up.

A lot of people say the opposite...so please expound on Dak's "mental acuity". Does he process the game in the same way Brady, Rodgers, myhommes, Brees?
