I was crucified in another thread for saying MM sucks. While at the end of the day he didn’t drop the INT, he didn’t miss the FG. However, he can be directly responsible for not developing Dak from continued bad habits. At some point the player is ultimately linked to the failures of the team and the HC is linked to the player that is underperforming. MM has won how many playoff games as a HC over the last decade? At least Dallas won a very critical area of the game again just like last years game vs SF, the penalties battle. Oh wait, that’s a bad thing and that’s another thing linked directly to the coaching staff.

Big Mac has won exactly 1 playoff game in his last 5 seasons as an NFL head coach.

His Super Bowl win was now 13 seasons ago.

He is not in charge of the offense, Jerry had to step in and fire his preferred choice as defensive coordinator (Nolan) and now Quinn may be on the move.

From what I can tell, Mac's biggest claim in Big D is that he is the QB whisperer.

How is that working out with Dak?
This is actual reality.

I will say this, you bring Payton in he will be aggressive and go after high priced free agents and trade picks to get better players. The more I think about Payton the less the Cowboys are likely to bring him in. The Cowboys will have to change everything. Not happening.

Hire Payton ?

Hire Quinn ?

Has MM gotten us to his ceiling ?
Yes I do and it might not be Big Mike's fault 100%. But think about this, we will lose Quinn and we are not getting Payton.
Mike does not run Offense/Defense or Specials. He isn't a great motivator. He is not good at managing the game.
Players make like him because he does nothing.
Quinn would come in and hold the offense accountable, let Kellen walk.

Back in 2007, i remember arguing for firing Wade Phillips because he like Mike did nothing. He wouldnt even wear the headphones until the 4th quarter. Do you guys remember that?
He took the team as far as it could go, same with Mike McCarthy.
Focus on toughness, cut Zeke, sign another RB along with Pollard, sign a WR, or three.

I love Payton and he could 100% make Dak a better QB but if you bring in Payton, with a new system, and perhaps he might also want to bring in a new DC, you are essentially starting over to a certain extent but long term I think it might be the best route. Currently, the Cowboys are just treading water.

Agree but it might be best long term. Dak would be a better QB in a Payton offensive system.

I think it's probably not a good idea

Make not attempt to keep Moore at this point
tell him to move on even laterally

Keep Quinn but that might not be possible/

Let Big Mike hire his own OC and give them two years
to get to the NFCCG.

After that clean house.

I don't know about all this hire/fire stuff. SF took out our RB and after that we just lost our steam. Didn't score another td. Pollard was the key to us having a balanced offense. I am not sure why they did not play Davis. They needed some speed in the backfield and Zeke wasn't getting it done.

SF's defense shut us down in the 2nd half without Pollard.

Add Turpin's kickoff return. seem to have a td, but slowed up ran into the arms of a 49er..it almost appears that the game was rigged...

Payton is not going to fix Dak. Just like Payton couldnt fix Winston nor could Arians.

I would if I could get a Payton/Fangio combination.

This organization won’t.

They’ll lose their best coach and try to put a shine on it for next year.
Fangio is better than Quinn. By a lot. Payton is a toss up with McCarthy.

Lot of things went wrong last night. The HC wasn't one of them. You want to fire a coach I'd start with the OC and the OLine coach.

Fangio is certainty better than anyone else they could get to replace Quinn, who I feel is gone.

And I think that Payton is a better offensive mind than McCartgy is. He’s shown he can win both by passing and running the ball. McCarthy has not.

And Payton’s offenses ranked consistently higher than McCarthy’s as well.

And Payton is a focused hard *** who will hold Dak accountable
Mccarthy is just a teddy bear happy to be here just like Dak
That’s why they get along. Exactly why Romo and Garrett got along
