So he wins a SB which is hard to do with Rodgers and he is trash. Then Payton must be trash also as he has only won ONE SB with Brees.

Ok then.

Keep arguing with me, I'm not biased and I'm an outsider. You keep being wrong, its what you do best anyway.

I was on the Urban Meyer bandwagon but, looking forward to see what MM can do. He's not a bad coach, & in my opinion a significant improvement over Garrett. Lets hope he resonates with our stars, & gets the most out of em.

My list was short with only Rivera ahead of Big Mike because of his D background but I viewed each as equal leaders.

I agree with Booger's first decision that it had to be a coach with NFL experience, successful NFL experience. I don't think he ever got a shot at Rivera because Snyder was on him 5 days after he got fired and Booger was still holding out hope for his red-headed stepchild.

I get being disappointed your guy wasn't hired but this is a guy with a proven track record and his problem was the same as Dan Reeves, too long with a star QB that must remain a star. You can bet the house that Rodgers will be happy with LaFleur's run game for just so long. Don Shula preferred to retire rather than butt heads with his star QB.

The best thing I like about Big Mike? He looks like a NFL HC. I look forward to seeing him on that sideline.

Winning a Super Bowl and going to 4 conference championship games isn’t “nothing”. Saying so is just stupid.

He has Arron Freaking Rodgers so of course he going to win 1 SB and multiple conference championship. But you think Dak is better than Rodgers LOL. Rodgers carry the Packers not McCarthy. Dak could carry JG as well except he suck but hey you got the coach you want so watch bum Dak suck next year and you will have no EXCUSE, no WHATSOEVER!!!! Hahaha

I like the hiring, but I wouldn't say I love it. Honestly though, I don't think I would "love" anyone. Assuming the guy is at least worthy of strong consideration (and McCarthy clearly is), I tend to be more of a wait and see before judging kind of guy. McCarthy is a good enough hire in my mind to be optimistic about what we might see.

Yes, MM has won the big game in this league.
He's an upgrade simply because he'll use analytics. He has also built a coaching tree and won't rely on brand new coaches to fill out his staff. His scheme should benefit from our personnel on offense right out of the gate. And he may make Jarwin a star.

And Belichick has Brady, and Payton has Brees and Carroll has Wilson, and Dungy had Manning … if having a great QB means the head coach isn't very good, that applies to a lot of coaches people think pretty highly of.

I voted no but ok with it. He is proven coach. I think he may can do something with this talented team if Jones stay out of his way.

Here is what I wrote about the hire in the other vote thread:

It all comes down to his coordinator hires for me. Particularly the defensive coordinator. IMO, that position will determine the success of the team. A good DC hire will create an environment for immediate positive results, because I think the offense is going to work right out of the gate.

To be honest, I think it is a good hire. McCarthy has a plethora of NFL connections, a book of offensive knowledge a mile thick, and is the kind of no nonsense coach that I felt like the team needs.

I also feel like a successful coach, when let go because his scheme/presence became stale at his last stop, tends to look long and hard at himself and make the necessary changes to update his coaching style. So, I do feel like McCarthy v.2 will be an improvement over what he gave GB. Plus, there won’t be a learning curve with either him or his staff in Dallas. He has coached a ton in this league and coached in a ton of games that were big and very much mattered.

So, there are a whole lot of positives in regards to what MM will bring to Dallas... but boy did I want to see Meyer or Rhule here.

I’ll try not to ding McCarthy just because I wanted one of those two guys. Besides, there was probably more risk involved with bringing either of those two in. All the concerns I had with them are non-existent with MM
:hammer:

I like it and his scheme fits Daks abilities and I’m no Dak fan. Really looking forward to a screen pass not only practiced during the week but apart of the game plan. While the west coast may be a thing of the past it appears everything will be fresh with the analytic approach. Like many others really looking forward to a DC who brings the heat.

Not a big fan, Rodgers and Favre carried him IMO. He better be more aggressive on offense and defense then he was in GB. He almost cost GB a playoff game in 2016 by taking his foot off the gas and letting us back in the game with his conservative approach in the second half.

With the news fresh in our minds, I thought it would be good to do an initial reaction check with everyone.

As usual, I do not provide an easy-way-out option in the polls.

Either vote or you have no opinion! :D

I voted no because it's not who I would have hired, and at this point does nothing to help fix the real problem on defense, but I would have selected a wait and see answer if that was an option.
