Do you own a gun?

I have a gun. I drive around a lot and just point it at random people out the window.

All joking aside. I was at a Red light some Years ago when a car full of teens pulled up beside me. The young man in the passenger seat had what looked like a Blued pistol and was laughing and waving it around inside their car.

I drew my carry gun a Glock 30 but did not display it. Their car turned left and my Glock went back in it's holster. I called the police and reported it. This was in Mesquite in the middle of the day.

If that kid would have pointed it at me he would have been shot. I know you were joking Bob. but please don't do such things.

You can open the windows on a city bus? Never knew that.

20 years ago I used to work Security at Sears here in Tucson. One day in the parking lot of the Mall some HS kids were driving around in a silver Mustang. A girl was behind the wheel and there were 2 guys in the car. The guy in the passenger seat had a gun pointed at the girl's head.

I called Police and so did about 10 people.

It turned out to be a very realistic looking squirt gun and these kids thought it would be funny to freak people out. They didn't think it was so funny being face down on the hot asphalt in July and handcuffed. The cops didn't think it was funny at all. I don't blame them.

I joke about a lot of things. I won't joke about guns, or with them. I treat every gun as if it is loaded even if I know for a fact that it isn't. I would hate to kill another human being. I won't deny that. But the fact of the matter is, I would do it to protect any other human being. That kid was lucky I was not armed. He was lucky the cops were not quick on the trigger. Instead of being uncomfortable face down on hot asphalt he might have been uncomfortable in a wheelchair or even dead. I would not have blamed anyone for trying to save that girl.

There is no such thing as a joke when it pertains to handguns. Just bad judgment.

Amen to that.

I won't. I'm an *******. But even I have my limits.

BTW I don't own a gun. Nothing against them or people who do own them. It's just not my thing.

People run around and ***** about how mean cops are, but when it comes to guns and criminals carrying them, pointing them at other people, cops and what not, they have the patience of saints. You will see all these videos of cops trying to talk these people down when they are well within their rights to take them down that instant. I respect that a lot.

I have...

Colt AR-15
SKS Assault Rifle
Mossberg 500 Pistol Grip Shotgun
Smith & Wesson 38 Revolver
Jennings 9mm (sucks)
Davis 22 Mag. Derringer

Nice.

I'm planning on picking up an SKS in the near future...

What kind of condition is it in, and what kind of accuracy are you getting out of it?

Absolutely agree with you. I am amazed at how much tact most of them do have. They live in a constant state of adrenaline rush in their jobs. I think people who hate them are the worst kinds of idiots. I have no respect for a bad cop, and they do exist. But I prefer a bad cop to a cop hater.

Dumbest thing I ever did was get rid of mine. They are deadly accurate and shoot great. Mine had a snap down bayonet and I could stick that in the ground and have an instant shooting perch.

That's good to know Bob. ;)

I even seen one video where this guy in Germany was wielding a sword, trying to strike at officers and they just grabbed a broom and subdued him with it.

Taurus model 731 .32 H&R Magnum. About $500.

Man they are proud of that piece. I'd have to change the grips right off..

The single best deterrent is locking your doors and windows and having your alarm set.

Do that and there's no need for a gun.

My wife wouldn't let me have a gun once my son was born. So that is pretty much what we do. I also keep a smallish aluminum bat in our bedroom just in case something happens.

The amount of home invasions (which is really why you would want a gun) in our neighbourhood is really, really low so I'm not overly worried anyway.
