dude Denver drafted Jerry was salty about that ended up out the league in like 2 years.
Paxton Lynch. I remember the draft day story and how Jerry couldn’t sleep because of all the angst he had about not trading up to get Lynch.

I completely agree with you that we lucked into Dak and Romo. It’s been a blessing and a curse. These guys have been fun, mostly in the regular season, but they have been good enough to keep us relevant but not great enough to get us to glory. They’ve played well enough to hide how inept the FO is. The FO needs to be exposed if any real change will happen IMO.

People are used to losing in life if Dak after nine years and little playoff success is “ good “.
What an idiotic take. Some like to be negative and constantly criticize, others like to be positive and some don't really care. Doesn’t make any of them losers or winners in life. The only ones that I would call losers in life are those that put such importance in a GAME that it leads them to judge people that they don't know. If the shoe fits, wear it. If not, go walk on the beach, say hi to @Rockport and chill.

I’d be happy if he played somewhere else, just for himself. You don’t win without a team. Ask Tony.

Yea ...... It's sure would be stupid not to pay a QB 70 million dollars a year to look like a deer in the headlights every time he faces a team in the playoffs with a winning record.
Simplified much, eh? What's your plan to replace a QB considered league wide to be a top 10 player at the position? Let's hear your plan, oh great and wise genius of a GM you are? Oh and they're not going to pay him $70 million dollars. Don't try to "amplify" your ridiculous point with utter bull doodoo.

OK, let's put this nonsense to bed. First of all, why not share where you see this poll. Secondly, if they claim he is a Tier 2 QB, it's because the consider Tier 1 Elite and only includes players like Mahomes, Burrow and Allen. If that's the case, sure - he is "tier 2" with the quarterbacks ranked in the 5 to 12 range. I can guarantee you this - Dallas won't have a tier 1 QB anytime soon due to letting Prescott walk next year. Again, Prescott is not this team's problem.
Absolutely. So, why didn't you ask before you vehemently denied this out of hand?

Jerry is far and away the biggest problem.

No, but neither do I want them to sign another "long term" super expensive contract. What I want is to see the Cowboys start looking for a QB! I don't think we should dump a relatively good QB without a worthwhile replacement. Start looking Cowboys. Do it the smart way, start drafting / looking for a replacement.

For the record I voted No . The issue becomes when you’re constantly drafting in the 20’s round one the premier QB talent is gone . If Prescott is set out to free agency in 2025 I can visualize Jerry elevating the fourth rounder Lance in 2025 . And in that scenario in 25 if Dallas struggles to win 5-6 games then you have a shot in 2026 for a top 10 QB pick .

In the draft ....... The last time they used a first rounder on a QB he won 3 Superbowls and was a first ballot hall of famer.

And if the first guy they pick is not the one ....... Pick the next year also ..... Until you find they guy.

Sure, Stafford 0-3 in postseason before winning (year 13)
Drew Breese 1-2 in postseason before winning (year 9)
Stafford was stuck on some really bad Detroit teams. He took the Rams the distance once he did have a great supporting cast.

Brees won with lesser talent than what Dak is used to. He also had the liberty of playing for a franchise that was irrelevant before he showed up.

Dak is, and has been the QB of the Dallas Cowboys for 8 years. He's had excellent offensive weapons over the years, and most of those years, he's had a decent or better defense. No championships, ok I get it. They're tough to win. Worst statistical QB playoff record in history....not good.

Want to see the forums current mood on this topic.
You need another choice, "It Depends on who the replacement is".

That will drastically affect the yes or no vote in my opinion.

Currently, if the replacement is Lance or Rush, then I vote to resign Dak............If the plan is to draft a QB high in the next year or two, then I would vote to let Dak walk.

See what I mean? The replacement is what will determine the decision to let Dak walk or not, so you just cant answer this poll with a simple yes or no, its more complicated than that.

You would vote YES if our backup QB were Dan Marino.
It's an "I LOVE DAK" thing with you, which will never change.

Bro, I have said many times in other threads that I do not think Dak is worth $60 a year, check my post history if you dont belive me.

What I have said however, is that you do not let Dak walk without a competent replacement. Again, I have said this in many threads.

Now if you want to let Dak walk and draft my boy Ewers from Texas in the first round, lets do it, I am right there with you letting Dak walk in that scenario.

Ewers might just be the real deal, they whooped arse on Colorado State 52-0:yourock::yourock::yourock::yourock::yourock::yourock::yourock::yourock::yourock:
