So it’s not an infatuation of what his skill set was but currently is and it’s better than what we have. What are you even talking about? Go back and read our conversation. I say we should get ET, you throw a tantrum in response. It's what you do every single time, with everyone. But, yes...pretend it's the other way around. By the way, I never argue with anyone here, unless it happens to be a member of the tantrum crew, which includes yourself. I voted yes simply because he is better than what we currently have on the roster at safety...........so its a talent issue for me.

With that being said, the dude is going full Antonio Brown here getting himself kicked off teams. So I admit, there are some serious red flags here so I totally understand the team taking a pass on him.

Earl Thomas still has ability, and likely is better than any current would be safety on the roster. However I am concerned he could become a disrupter on our young team. If we do acquire Earl all we can hope is that he respects the coaching staff and gets along with other players. My vote was to pass on him, but I won't rage at anyone else that wants him on board.

This is true but since we're 2 weeks from the start of the season, timing is very much an issue. Most, if not all teams are set with their starters ( 49ers and Falcons admitted as much ). With that being said, it's interesting we haven't heard anything regarding the $10M guaranteed salary. Is he filing a grievance? If so, how long will that take for a decision? How will it impact his next contract? Also, keep in mind if you sign him to a deal before the first regular-season game, you're on the hook for his entire 2020 salary if he's on the roster. Lots of issues to consider here but notice one thing........Cowboys have still left the door open. I don't think that's a coincidence at all. Remember we add Coop 4-5 games after the season started.

Who is saying he is barely better than Darius Thompson? It seems the argument is cost and baggage. And even if someone says Thomas isn't as good as he once was, that doesn't equate to saying he is barely better than Thompson.

Thomas seems to be the name everyone has heard and thinks of the thomas from 5 years ago. he is on the wrong side of 30, coming off injuries. to say he has lost a step is an under statement. and now seemingly he has lost his focus and drive and just seemingly wanting to have one last large contract.....he is not focused on football, given he has missed meetings apparently to get his car washed, has gotten into fights with teammates and just got cut by the ravens, a superbowl contending team. we are a young team, we don't need distractions given even if he is better than thompson, he may not be much better at this point in his career. Plus, it seems that nobody really wants to sign him, everyone who has a need just like us has said, no thanks...including SF, Atlanta, NO.....

but hey, people on this board like to play madden football, they just make a trade on the game and turn up the ratings and fantasize.
