Does anybody have faith in this coaching staff?

Really folks, do you have any faith in Byran Stewart or Bruce Reed? just look at the body of work all last season and now. before all of you say we had a top defense last year, let me say this.that defense was not dominant defense.and Wade has had three head coaching jobs and never won a playoff game. so if you have faith.what is it based on?

Why is faith necessary? It's results which really matter and that will or will not be proved until the 2008 regular season. Until then, it doesn't matter who kind of popularity contest that they haven't won anyone over with yet.

Lets be honest here folks. Lets just wait until the season starts. I for one have been critical about this defense but lets just look at the factors.

1. Newman isn't playing right now. He will make this defense 5x better.

2. They aren't unleashing the full scheme of what they are going to do this year. While they look passive and reactionary this is vanilla as the defense is going to get. After all it is preseason teams aren't going to show everything they are going to do in games that don't count.


I have a feeling the defense is going to have a big year this season.

I have no faith in Wade and this staff. they did a terrible job in the last 4 games of last season. and they never should have lost that home playoff game to the Giants. special teams has not gotten any better.and believe it or not, the defense has more talent but looks worse.so the answer your question.NO!

Didnt the Pats and Packers lose also to the Giants in the Playoffs? Should we question their coaching staff?

Its is very difficult to beat a quality team like the Giants 3 times in a season.....is it not?

Wasnt our defense ranked 5th overall last season?

Didnt Wade coaching helps us break mulitple team records and record 13 wins?

Are we not still in preseason and its premature to start questioning the coaching staff about personal and schemes when the season hasnt even started?

really the coaching staff is the least of our problems.

Bruce Reed is the only weakness on the coaching staff of All-stars

All excuses. we were a better team to the Giants and lost at home. why do you think wade gets fets fired if we lose in the first round of the playoffs again this year?WHY? no more excuses.

I'll be 100% honest here. I trust GArret and what He knows and does, but I have little faith in wade and Stewart. I mean I hope they do well and get Our guys to their potential, but I dont think it will happen.

Body of work? lol, 2 years? Go take a look at Tom Landry's "body of work" between 1966 and 1969 and tell me how disappointed you are with him. If you don't have the balls to stick it out as a Cowboys fan, move the heck on.

The staff as a whole, yes

however there are a couple individuals I dont have any confidence in, beginning mainly with Read. He should have never been hired here IMO, then should have been let go aftr last season, and so far this preseason his coverage units look ever worse.

and I am beginning to really worry about Brian Stewart. The only saving grace here is if Stewart really blows big time for a few games, that Wade can take over total control and playcalling of the defense. The otehr bummer is we could have had Dom Capers on this staff had it not been for Stewart's crying. I know Capers wouldnt have been DC, but he would have been someone who could have added alot of input.

Other than those two, I think we have a real quality staff.

Not sure what you're basing things on other than Wade's 0-4 postseason record. And the coaches don't play. They seem to teach well and the staff and players love Wade. Can't get better than the latter.

The defense looks good at times. Jenkins is lost out there but they had to find out if he could play. They found a player in Scandrick. Newman will be back as will Spencer. So the pass rush and pass D will be better. Zack is here.

The offense has looked unstoppable and the mistakes are down.

The STs haven't looked good but that will improve some.

What's the beef? Sure there are things that need to improve but we're the odds on favorite to go to the SB in our conference. Whattayawan??

ultimatley, this has never been about wade....jerry THINKS this is the roster that can get it done...notice the amount of players he has RE-SIGNED...that means that ultimatley it is on the players....this coaching staff employs and agressive attacking scheme....that is what most players want.....so if they cannot make it work....it is on them. The majority of them have gotten their money....there are very few that are waiting on there money...jerry has never been shy about paying guys who he wants.....so it's time to win...if you can accept the paycheck jerry writes you every week....then i don't want to hear any excuses about the way a coach motivates you....the money is motivation enough...the scheme is agressive enough...if you are a baller, then ball!

Yep, this is not a bunch of babies. They may be young, but every starter we have has been around several years. Time to put it on the players.

I have faith in this coaching staff and I don't mind that they aren't planning to use Felix on the Kickoff returns. One of the things I've always hated, and dreaded, is seeing someone on KR or PR that I wouldn't want to see get hurt and lose them somewhere else. I always HATED it when I'd see Newman back there to return a punt, regardless of how much better he was than Crayton at it, cause I would have just been sick if he'd been hurt on one of those things and then we lose his corner skills, which are more important in my book.

So, to me, what Felix can bring to this offense is FAR more important than what he might bring on the Kick return game and I'd rather not lose him on one of those and then lose what he's going to bring to our offense.

As for our Punt Returns I'm sure everyone realizes that Adam Jones is going to have those duties the vast majority of the time.

I bet you a nickel that Felix is doing it come game time, especially with Stanback out. IMO Wade sounded like he may have been fibbing a little when he talked about saving Felix for offense.
