Does anybody have faith in this coaching staff?

I bet you a nickel that Felix is doing it come game time, especially with Stanback out. IMO Wade sounded like he may have been fibbing a little when he talked about saving Felix for offense.

Coaches don't just broadcast their plans through the media, you know.
i hope you are right. not even Wade Phillips can be that stupid.F. Jones needs to be returning kicks.PERIOD!

There is some validity to the topic question: do you like Bruce Reed on ST? no , of course not , do you feel great about Brian Stewart? , I don't, I think he overrates our pass-rush without blitzing. Do you trust Wade Philips not to let Romo & Witten go on a vacation again, if in fact we get back to the playoffs again? , heck I questioned Wade's indecision the other nite on the challenge flag against Houston, he almost burned 2 timeouts and looked perplexed.
There are some concerns, and be well assured this staff is on the hotseat, each and every one of them.

Body of work? lol, 2 years? Go take a look at Tom Landry's "body of work" between 1966 and 1969 and tell me how disappointed you are with him. If you don't have the balls to stick it out as a Cowboys fan, move the heck on.

If this team does not go to the super bowl, i hope Jerry fires all of them but Garrett.no excuses.

I'm not worried about Stewart, he really doesn't run the defense. Wade does and if there's one thing that Wade usually does extremely well and it correlates to winning, it's sacking the QB. Over the last 21 years of Wade serving as either a D-Coordinator or head coach, his defenses have averaged an amazing 44.4 sacks per season. You sack the QB at that rate, you give yourself a better chance to win.

I am concerned about Read. Wade has had some issues with special teams at Buffalo and we did give up a good ST coach in DeHaven. Plus, Parcells put emphasis on finding quality special teams player and I don't think Jerry really subscribes to that philosophy and I don't know if Read is good enough to overcome that.

Usually the leader in blitz percentage is about 36% of the time. Wade blitzed around that much, with Brian Stewart, in San Diego.

Last year the team blitzed nearly 30% of the time, up from 18% of the time under Zimmer in 2006. Stewart certainly does blitz and isn't afraid to do so. The big difference is Wade's philosophy is to send 5 pass rushers, whereas most D-Coordinators like to send 6 or 7 pass rushers. Still, it's hard to argue with Wade's pass rush success. He's been either the D-Coordinator or head coach in the NFL in 21 of the past 22 seasons and in that time his defenses have averaged 44.4 sacks a season, which is phenomenal.

And last year, the Cowboys finished 3rd in sacks (46), up from 34 sacks under Zimmer the year before and that was the most sacks Dallas has had since 1994. And to show that it wasn't just the team getting a ton of opportunites, the Cowboys finished 5th in pass attempts per sack last season as well.

Wade really runs the defense, Stewart more or less supervises it. But the philosophy is definitely Wade's and he's never been shy of blitzing, outside of the preseason.

Very good point. the idea that a backup RB wont be used on kickoff returns because he may get hurt is crazy. and getting Felix no reps with the first team is just as stupid.some of this stuff is hard to believe.

You make a terrific back seat driver... but tell me, how many football games have you coached, and what's your won-loss record??

Your arrogance is both annoying and amusing, all at the same time... get over yourself, dilettante...

Really folks, do you have any faith in Byran Stewart or Bruce Reed?

Maybe if I had any idea who they were, I could answer that question, but I've looked and I've looked, and we don't seem to have a "Byran Stewart", or a "Bruce Reed" employed by the Cowboys...

You seem to want us to believe that you're some huge expert on all things connected to the Cowboys, yet you can't even get the basics like the freakin' coaches NAMES right...

You had zero credibility before this, now your Credibility Quotient is in negative numbers... the more you rant, the more you show people how profoundly clueless you are...

I've heard that we can find out what you look like by going to the dictionary... it's said that your picture appears alongside the word "obtuse"...

Is that true??

First..I hate a 3-4...Need to go back to 4-3. The facts are little misleading.
A game is not won by sacks alone. it is not fair for Zimmer's numbers in 2006..he was forced to convert to a 3-4..Lets look at Zimmers numbers the last year he was able to run his 4-3(bills first year) and this is WITHOUT WARE,SPENCER,SPEARS.
SACKS ,Points Defense gave up per game
Wade 46, 28.4
Zimmer 33, 18.3

People can have there sacks..I rather have the 10pts a game less.
We would be better(in my opinion) going back to a 4-3. Ellis would be back home on DE and not a OLB thats rushes and has to do coverage(he has done better that I thought he would).

Think about it.You could move ware to DE(like freeney) if not leave him OLB.
Spears(was a DE in a 4-3 and was good) and Ellis as DE's .Tank and Ratliff at DT's. Ware as WOLB,ZACH as MLB, Spencer or find a True SOLB.(somebody that can cover a RB out of the backfield)

Whats funny. I have been playing Madden 09. I ALWAYS switch Dallas back to a 4-3. It rates Ellis as 85-86 OLB and changing him to a DE bumps him up to a 93-94 rating...EVEN THE DAMN GAME KNOWS WHERE ELLIS WOULD BE BETTER AT. :laugh2:

Yeah, let's turn into Danny Boy Snyder's Commanders...

With you in charge, Aikman would have been benched LONG before he became a Hall of Famer... he was just brutal his first year or two...

With you in charge, Tom Landry would have been a little-known footnote in history, you would have fired him by the end of his third season at the latest... you probably would have fired him after he went 0-11-1 in his first season...

And even Saint Jimmy, who you revere so deeply, went 1-15 in his first year running the Cowboys... obviously, he would have been history, just another successful college coach who got in over his head in the NFL... he would have been Steve Spurrier, before Steve Spurrier...

Yes sir, if you go around canning everybody every time you're disappointed with how a season goes, you're gonna own a perennial LOSER... if you had your way, the Dallas Cowboys would be the Detroit Lions...

So the team would reflect the owner...

You'd understand about the virtue of patience, if you were REALLY a Cowboys fan...

Now, Silverbear. You can't hold those sort of obvious omissions from a self-professed, 40-year Cowboys fan, can you?

You forgot to mention that he repeatedly misspells Cowboy player names, but rarely (or ever) misspells the names of Washington players and/or coaches.

 :)

I've always played formations in Madden as close to those played in reality, so I've stuck to the base 3-4 since Parcells implemented the change. I also play a lot of franchise mode seasons.

It's funny though. I blitz my corners alot, especially in dime packages. In Madden '08, I ended up with Jacques Reeves having 30+ sacks each season. How about that? Jacques Reeves.

When it comes to real life NFL, :madden:
