Does anyone seriously think Jerry is a Football Guy

Not relevant to winning at least the NFCC
They could win this year. You just don't want to believe it. They have built the oline and now have the linebackers. They are trying to get some dtackles to give them a shot. They are trying.

This is a great thread. He is obviously making the point of other top teams having real football guys as GM's while we have a rich guy owner playing GM. Its been the core of everything wrong with the Cowboys since Jimmy left. Its why its been so long since the 'Boys were in a Super Bowl.
Jerry sucking as GM threads should be half the threads on here - what been more of a problem for the Cowboys for the last 20 plus years than that.
Hilarious, since half the league hasn't won a title since the Cowboys last titles, and they all have"Real," football guys as GM.

I hate to bring up the same old same old, but what other GM, other than Jerry because he is also the owner, would still have a job with his track record? And throw his 100% nepotism based hired COO and “co-owner” son of his in the same category

Does anyone seriously think Jerry is a Football Guy

Jerry is the most dangerous kind of football guy… the kind who thinks he knows and does not know his limitations. Plus an overinflated ego who wants all the credit if successful.

Not sure of what your definition of a “Football Guy” is, but Jerry was co-captain of Arkansas 1964 National Championship game as an offensive lineman. Throughout his time in the NFL he’s learned from so many of the greats that he’s certainly learned even more. So IMO, he’s a football guy more than most here. His only problem is he’s convinced his way is the right way.
Jerry is a 100% a football guy. The Cowboys aren’t the Browns. They aren’t the Jets. There’s about 75% of the league that would kill for the success Dallas has had for the last 10+ years. Jerry’s problem is eventually his emotions get in the way and override his brain. Playing hardball with Dak is probably the smart move, except you can’t blink and you can’t get soft. In the end Jerry will blink.

The Jethro minions are always amusing

Matt Millen was an excellent NFL LB
he was a disaster as a GM
so just because you played means nothing
the fact that Jethro was a guard and does not understand the value of having quality DTs just shows that claiming he is a football guy is pathetic

Yes, I do think that Jerry Jones is a football guy.

He's a seriously horrendous football guy.

Roseman gave up a haul for Wentz, Schoen signed Jones for $40m per year, Lynch signed Lance for 5 #1 draft picks. Who else u got?
All those guys lose their jobs if they don’t meet the owners expectations. Jerry makes decisions with no fear of retribution. They all make many mistakes. Eventually they’ll all be terminated. Jerry will continue making them unabated. If you don’t see a difference it’s because you can’t see anything with your head up Jerry’s ***.

This isn't exactly fair, lol. Switch Dak & Mahommes and see which one is the "Football Guy". We'd be going for 3 in a row too
Tjere is a reason mahomes plays for them and dak for us.

And its again the same reason the OP already mentioned. Switch qbs and dak wouldnt play one full season for the chiefs

Roseman Multi SB teams . Next case .
He makes as many mistakes as good moves. He won’t fail for lack of trying, though. Roseman collaborates with the Eagles owner. They make decisions together. Roseman is the one that gets fired if they go too long without playoff success.
