He needs a couple yrs at least to put on some man weight and strengthI will add Connor Williams turned 21 end of May. The guy is really young.

Collins aint movin back to OG.....he's our OT.
Williams wont learn anything from the bench.
Of course he will struggle.....he did on sunday....but also had possessions where he played well.
Im not benching Williams for a journeyman off the street.
Smith-Williams-Looney-Martin-Collins.
until Frederick is back THAT is our OL.
They have known that since the off-season...except for Frederick being out.
Sundays loss to carolina aint on the OLine.
right now I leave Williams at OG....I dont see how not playing helps him improve, personally.
IF a change is made,I wonder if they do it at the bye week.
For me...I leave Collins at OT and Williams at OG....if you told me that Collins moves inside and Williams moves over,Id give that a shot.
but that GOAT sometimes makes players look better than they might be.I wouldn’t want a rookie dealing with speed rushers in a new position. At least Fleming has played there, for a good team in big games, protecting the GOAT.
dont disagree...at all. It's at least partly on the O-Line - there is plenty of blame to spread around the entire offense. But I agree that benching Williams isn't the way to go. If we still had a guy of Leary's caliber, then sure, let Williams learn and get him playing time where we can. But we don't have somebody like that, and whoever we could put in would at most only be a mild, short term upgrade, and probably not even that. So it makes sense to stick with Williams.
But I'm still not sure what the thinking was behind Williams playing OG instead of OT, with Collins moving back to OG. Collins has the bulk for OG, and has experience playing OG at both the college and pro level. Williams has less bulk and his college experience is entirely at OT.
I got the same issue to a lesser degree. I'm a lot heavier than I look too.
But I think most people would rather have experience at tackle as opposed to a rookie.but that GOAT sometimes makes players look better than they might be.
but remember....I want Collins at T and Williams at G....that is still my preference. But I think most people would rather have experience at tackle as opposed to a rookie.
next to Smith and Looney he looks 6'0" 275lbhe is listed as 6'5" 311lb ...
It takes many months to gain strength and bulk -- If Connor Williams is seriously lacking it now, chances are he'll be lacking it all year. Yet, is anyone significantly more qualified to fit in? We'll see about that.
if he is a backup, may be he can do more lifting?
I think he's only going to get better as the season goes along.
Im not pulling the plug for a guy we just signed off the street.

I want no part of Fleming starting at OT after what I saw in the pre-season....just my opinion. My whole point was MAYBE we need to make a change at LG right now. With Collins at LG and Fleming at RT, we’d have veterans at both spots.
thats where he was ranked om many boardsIf he isn't big or strong enough to play, why is he starting and why did he spend a #2 on him?
