The catch last week was obviously one of the best we’ve ever seen and he deserves props for that.

However, aside from that catch, how many jaw dropping/OMG plays have we seen him make this year?

He’s not really a huge leaper like Dez. He’s not a blazing WR like some others. His hands aren’t special based on all the drops.

He has top level agility which helps him on Punt Returns and get open in the slot. But even though he’s put up great numbers and can be a #1 WR on a team, I have been a little disappointed by the lack of highlight reel type plays from him.

If he were a #1 and not much else around him, like when Cooper came in 2018, would he dominate?

The number one priority required for every wide receiver/quarterback exchange is the ball has to be delivered within a catch radius. Not what fans think the catch radius is, but a real, non-super hero catch radius, nor non-Madden cartoonish catch made on a video game.

He plays for a team who has had a MASH unit for an offensive line, a questionable redheaded QB who has never been great, a cast of thousands at QB when the ginger is sidelines with a bump on his head or a chest cold, and his Starting QB is out for the year since game four or five.

In a year that had no preseason games, no real off-season preparation, and regime change.

And yet he has posted more catches as a rookie than any Cowboy over the last sixty years of its existence.

Highlight reel catches come when a team is galvanized into a unit that plays together, and the scheme of the unit is humming on all cylinders.

Or did OBJ set the world on fire with the Browns during his time there?

Disappointment threads weep with sadness and emotion. Mostly linked to facts by the slimmest thread.

He already looks better than Dez did in his rookie year.

People forget Dez didn't become the Dez we know until well in to his second year. It took some time for him and Romo to have a connection.

Lamb already looked like he had some kind of connection with Dak before Dak got injured.

Not built for the nfl
Guy can't break tackles

Dumb pick

CeeDee’s already very good and our passing game was pretty unstoppable until Dak went down, even with a garbage OL.

It’s fair to ask if he was the best fit for our team with the #17 overall pick though. Cooper had just gotten paid and we still have Gallup on his rookie deal.

Maybe CeeDee’s development means we trade Cooper next offseason, if there are any takers at his $20m/year salary.

He's around the same size Marvin Harrison was coming into the league.... I remember people questioning whether he could be a number one receiver on his team. I guess it worked out ok since he made it to the HOF. Idk....

Just another wasted draft pick...He is what he is but in no way a better receiver than Cooper who we already had on the damn roster. We should have drafted a defensive player.I like
Lamb as a person and player but we should have not used our 1 st round draft pick on a damn receiver when we already had Gallup and Coop.

Spot on..

What defensive player should they have taken at 17?

Best linebacker in college last year. Patrick Queen

His drop killed us. Can’t do that in the end zone.

How dare you question our shiny new number 88. After 3 years he will get 200 million guaranteed and you will love it.

The thing about Lamb is people tried to prematurely anoint him. He's a rookie. He's on pace to shatter team records. He is ahead of the curve but he's still a rookie.

He was fine when he had Dak at quarterback. He's finding himself in a mess of a offense that come to find out Dak made look better than it really was as did Romo before him.
Wide receivers except for D-Hop,need a quarterback. Andy ”Dandy” Dalton has done CeeDee no favors. Just look at his stats with Dalton starting. I don’t think Gilbert is a better quarterback then Dalton but he has a better arm.

He dropped the TD pass, so that's fresh but he's a special player that has mediocre talent throwing him the ball. Dalton couldn't hit WRs in stride. One pass to Cooper was nice, but everything else was either too short, behind or just off. And if this staff didn't go for it every 4th down, he may have more production returning kicks.

If I’m comparing him to Dez Bryant as a rookie, he seems more polished but clearly doesn’t possess the raw ability and ceiling that Dez had.

Lamb seems like he’ll be a better route runner and may prove to be the more reliable receiver over time, but he’s not going to terrify secondaries like Dez did if you leave him in single coverage. Just my opinion.

Dez just had a different level of big play ability and explosiveness to his game. Not that it’s a knock on Lamb as a receiver, I think Dez had more raw ability than 99% of receivers in the league.

So the fact that this guy is about to shatter Cowboys records despite playing with a bunch of backups for most of the season isn't enough? What should he be doing? Beating primes Randy Moss stats in his rookie season? CeeDee absolutely was the correct pick. What defender could we have picked at 17 that is just balling out?
