If stats is the case put Danny in. In his prime Danny was just as good. One game away from making it to a sb. This is why JJ is doing what he can to help Romo get that ring. We all know Romo will not get in without that ring. That right there would be a shame but it is the key to admission.

Not arguing with you but Danny White was never the QB Romo is....and I watched every game they both played.

The game has changed a lot since Staubach and Aikman played there's much more passing now which is why Romo holds most of the Cowboys passing records. Romo has had some good teams some were very good like last seasons team. There's 3 Cowboy QB's in the ROH one paved the way for the championship teams they had and the other two won 5 championships between them. Jerry is about wining championships and Romo has to win at least one to be added to the ROH in my opinion.

I agree with your points. There's a part of me, though, that thinks JJ might make an exception for Romo given that JJ feels personally responsible for pretty much wasting Romo's talent up to this point. I just want Romo and Witten to win at least one ring so that there is no debate.

It takes a TEAM to win a ring, not just a QB. There are many QB's who were good enough but didn't have the TEAM to do it. I'll be glad when SB wins is not the only thing that considers whether or not a QB was great. People say Eli has two rings but he's not Tony Romo and I don't care who disagrees.........

Witten is the only player that Jerry will add to the ROH if he isn't part of a championship because he's likely to go down as one of the top 10 TE's of all time. Even Demarcus Ware may not end up in the Cowboys ROH despite all his sacks because he was never apart of a good defense or a team that won much.

I really don't care because I don't want to put the cart before the horse. That is a loooong way off. This is like asking if Romo will enter the HOF.

There is a pretty high standard to get into the Ring of Honor. I don't think Tony is there yet, but if he stays healthy a plays a few more years, I think he gets in. If he gets us to the Super Bowl this year and never plays another down, I think that will put him in the ROH for sure.

I don't see how Jerry could feel he's wasted Romo's talents when he's had several pro bowl receivers and a pro bowl TE Romo's been surrounded by talent ever since he took over in 06. He's had a receiver who'll end up in the HOF (TO) and another in Dez who might end up in Canton. Witten is practically a lock for the HOF. Romo has had some very talented offenses with the top rusher in the league. There's been some issues defensively but the Cowboys have had enough talent to win a championship during Romo's tenure. He's had a 13 win team, an 11 win team and a 12 win team so I can assure you Jerry isn't feeling like he's wasted Romo's talents. Romo wouldn't have had the success he's had or produced the numbers he's had without some solid talent around him.

Silly question. Of course he does. He owns every Cowboys record there is, and he did most of it all by himself.

That's a team accomplishment. John Stockton and Karl Malone didn't win any titles, yet they are in the HOF. Charles Barkley too.

We're talking about the Cowboys ROH not the HOF. The criteria for every teams ROH is different not every team has won 5 championships.

I was just pointing out what JJ , himself, has stated in the past.

He's a shoo-in IMO. But as a previous poster said, I'll worry about it 5 years after he's retired = 14 years! WORD!

He's made some statements in the past but I've never seen him quoted as saying he's wasted Romo's talents. If you have a quote with him saying that feel free to post it.
