Does Romo go in the RoH?

He has almost every cowboy QB record, championship or not he deserves to be there.

I agree. By the time he is done he will be so much further away in every category that it will be impossible to keep him of the ROH.

Not unless he QBs the team to a SB win.
I think he deserves to eventually be there, but I doubt you get up there without that Lombardi.

Normally, I would agree with you. In Romo's case, however, I think JJ (or Stephen) eventually puts him in because Romo will own every meaningful passing record when he's done and Jerry said that he, himself, was responsible for not giving tony a better team with which to win a SB. Having said all that, I just hope Tony gets his championship and makes the debate moot.

Except for Meredith and Perkins every player that's been added to the ROH helped the Cowboys to at least one championship. Every player from the Jerry Jones era that's been added to the ROH contributed to multiple championships. Despite all the Cowboy passing records Romo has can't see him ever being added to the ROH without a championship or two. Both Staubach and Aikman led the Cowboys to multiple championships and championships are the standards Romo will be held to.

Not without a SB.

if it was all about records then the RoH would be filled with ppl

The fact he owns all the Cowboys records + the fact he's a Jerry Jones guy = RoH.

Romo, Witten and Ware will be the guys from the 2000's who will make it. All are no brainers, and nobody else is even a candidate. Roy Williams (safety) was on his way before he decided he didn't care too much anymore.

From the current era, Dez and the OL will have a great shot if they keep it up.

If stats is the case put Danny in. In his prime Danny was just as good. One game away from making it to a sb. This is why JJ is doing what he can to help Romo get that ring. We all know Romo will not get in without that ring. That right there would be a shame but it is the key to admission.

The game has changed a lot since Staubach and Aikman played there's much more passing now which is why Romo holds most of the Cowboys passing records. Romo has had some good teams some were very good like last seasons team. There's 3 Cowboy QB's in the ROH one paved the way for the championship teams they had and the other two won 5 championships between them. Jerry is about wining championships and Romo has to win at least one to be added to the ROH in my opinion.

I don't think there are very many meaningful records that aren't represented in the RoH. Interceptions and sacks (Everson Walls and Harvey Martin/DWare, I think)...I'm sure there are more. But you're right, it's not about JUST records, it's a lot about being a long-tenured, highly valued player who represented the Cowboys in a positive light. Romo and Witten will have done that when they're done. Hopefully, they will also have a ring or two to go with that.

I don't see achieving team passing records in a passing league as being enough to get Romo in the ROH. It may be enough for another team that hasn't won 5 SB's but not for the Cowboys. Staubach and Aikman set a high standard and the standard is winning championships.

He (and team) will win a title anyway in the next 2 years...so moot point anyway! :starspin:
