Does Romo go in the RoH?

We're talking about the Cowboys ROH not the HOF. The criteria for every teams ROH is different.

lol. Sure. So even the Pro Football HOF has player's that never won a Lombardi. You're right though. Romo, Witten and Ware WILL not be in the ROH 'cause their teams never won a SB. It's the Cowboys ring of honor, not the COWBOY'S SUBER BOWL TEAM Ring Of HONOR.

The only stat that means anything are Champion stats. Answer is a resounding no (without a championship)

Don Meredith says hi from beyond.

Already mentioned Meredith. He's in the ROH along with Perkins because they helped pave the way for the Cowboys. The criteria has changed over the years and only players with SB rings are being added.

lol Damn...that has to hurt!

I don't see achieving team passing records in a passing league as being enough to get Romo in the ROH. It may be enough for another team that hasn't won 5 SB's but not for the Cowboys. Staubach and Aikman set a high standard and the standard is winning championships.

It's not only that he has all the passing records, he is going to absolutely shatter each and every one of them. Think about this, he is already about 80 TDs ahead of Troy in 36 less games played. And Troy played with the likes ok Marino, Elway and Favre, so it was a passing league back then. His career QB rating is 97, next up its Roger with 83.

I could see your point if he was just barely getting those records, but he is crushing them.

After he wins a Super Bowl 3 of the next 4 years before retiring... are you kidding me?

I really believe what Tony and the Cowboys do in the next few years will get Tony in the ROH. This is our time, and I fully expect Tony to go out of the league just like Elway did, with a couple of Super Bowl wins to cap off his career.

Football is a team sport and going to a Superbowl or not, does not rest solely on Romo's shoulders. He's been such a leader on this team and broken so many Cowboys records that I can't see how you don't put him in.

The HOF is littered with players that never won a championship. Dick Butkus never even played in a playoff game. The criteria for being inducted into the HOF is being a great player. QB's are going to be looked at differently than any other position because they influence the outcome of games more than any other position. As I mentioned only 2 players have been added to the Cowboys ROH that weren't apart of championships in Dallas and that was many years ago when the ROH was in it's infancy. It's all about being apart of championships now.

Really...you can? lol He has no point.

Yeah, Romo sucks, he is not a great player....lol Typical KJJ.

You have average NFL QB's shattering records of HOF QB's from 30 plus years ago because of rule changes and the NFL being a pass happy league. Everything is bent on perfecting the performance of QB's. Mark Sanchez had a higher career passer rating than Joe Namath with the Jets. It was a running league during Aikman's era with Emmitt and Barry Sanders leading the way. It makes no difference that Romo is 80 TD's ahead of Troy. Aikman outdistances Romo in every category during the post season. The Cowboys ROH under Jerry Jones is about players who've led his teams to championships.

I would guess there's been at least two dozen threads on this and the answer is no unless he wins multiple championships.

I say if he win his third playoff game he should be in the ROH.

So no to Witten and Ware. lol.

Witten will likely get in regardless if the Cowboys don't win a championship with him because by the time he hangs it up he'll be in the top 5-10 in just about every TE category. It's not just team records he's breaking but he may break a few NFL records if he keeps playing another 4-5 years. He'll likely go down as one of the top 10 greatest TE's. As for Ware he may get in the HOF before the ROH. I mentioned the Cowboys won very little with him despite all his sacks and he never had many game changing sacks. His leadership has been questioned because he wasn't vocal and his play never seemed to elevate the defense. I have my doubts on Ware being added to the ROH.

There are no average QBs with Tony's numbers.

Didn't say there was but there are some average QB's who've put up some numbers not even HOF QB's put up during their day due to the rule changes and the league being so pass happy. All the skill positions of today are far out producing their predecessors from years past because the game has changed. At least 7 of the all time passing rating leaders are current QB's.

I love Romo, but hell no. Not before Harvey Martin. Hell no!
