Does the fact that FA's are skipping the Eagles make TO more credible

Maybe it's an exaggeration and yes, there were other factors in their decision, but notice how free agents are bypassing the Eagles? Eric Moulds picked the Texans of all teams over the Eagles! LeCharles Bentley supposedly had a contract already drawn out and then split town.

TO did say in his press conference that while he was certainly to blame, it takes two to tango and the Eagles were also responsible for letting the situation get out of hand. This is the same Eagles team that easily fetched TO and Jevon Kearse a few years ago when they did decide to pursue some big name free agents. Just coincidence or is it that maybe players are taking notice of something?

It's a bit of a reach, but I can see where you're coming from.

Bentley, if i remember correctly, went to Cleveland, where he wanted to go all along. I don't think it had anything to do with the Eagles, just that he really wanted to go back to Cleveland.

Moulds might have skipped the Eagles. I would be interested to see the terms between the Eagles and Moulds vs. the Texans and Moulds.

I think I read somewhere that the Eagles think that they are still good, and that they don't need anyone else on their team...

It's called "living in the past"...they still think they are going to win the SuperBowl sometime in the next, oh, 40 or 50 years!

Another indicator on this might come if and when Javon Walker parts company with Green Bay. I think the Eagles would love to have him.

Moulds went to the team that gave him the most money. Don't think TO and the Eagles had anything to do with it.

I think Moulds is also close with Andre Johnson, which would influence his decision to join Houston over Philly.

What fun is in thinking like that? Owens also went to the team dumb enough to pay him the most, as any player would.;)

Players are finally starting to realize how they get treated as FA's in Philly and its not just TO. They have been cutting vets for years now, and hopefully players realize that and dont want to sign a lt deal there.

I think that this was part of the problem with the Eagles, not wanting to pay anyone not named McNabb or Kearse. They put B. Westbrook through the ringer before relenting and paying him. They traded John Welbourn to K.C. after refusing to pay him. The allowed Trotter and Douglas to leave in free agency without paying them. (Then sign them back at the bargin basement rate). The Eagles have stated as a team, "We do not re-negoiate contracts. The sets up a situation where a player who out performs his contract, has no recourse but to act a fool(like T.O.) or demand a trade (like Welbourne). Just think if Jerry Jones had the same attitude, Glenn would be pissed off or released by now. But everyone who plays for the BOYS knows if you perform well, you will be compensted well.
This bodes well for players playing thier hearts out! :star:

actually the eagles bypassed moulds as opposed to the other way around.

idk why, he would have been a vast improvement over their current wrs(gaffney, lol)

Isn't walker represented by Rosenhaus? If he is that should be a fun negotiation.

Sorry but letting Dogulas go for the money he got was the smart thing the eagles did Dogulas dropped of bad and was cut soon after.

Trotter thought he was better than he was got big money and sucked arse and bilked some other team of big money again a win for the eagirls

Funny when the eagirls shelled out money the FA jumped to them in flocks it is all about the Benjamin's if you pay them they will come

Tho TO and FA not signing there because of him please all the Eagles have to do is :jackpot::money::showme:

I usually don't worry about what other teams do with thier salary cap except the skins of course, but the Eagles are cheap.
They are always under the cap by at least 8 to 9 million and they do not go out of thier way to sign the premier FA's...except when they got TO and Kearse...we all no what happened with TO, but for the money they are paying Kearse is he worth it??
I would say these guys are gun-shy but I think conservative and cheap are more accurate.
You have two ends of the spectrum in the NFC East...
The skins who always over-pay for FA's and the Eagles who stick to thier plan no matter what.
