Does this stretch or good games make you consider Rico Dowdle a viable option to start 2025?

Who the hell arrives at any conclusion about a player off 2 hand-picked games.
He’s gotten better practically every week since he became the main back. He’s averaging 4.8 per carry. Do you call that average? No one is saying he’s been great but he has been better than average. I’ve said repeatedly we need a big play threat as our main back. Don’t know why you want to argue this. You’re the only one who is.

They tagged Anthony Spencer. Twice.

Anything is possible with the Jones.

And yes, they are bigger morons than anyone has ever accused them of if they Franchise Tag Rico Dowdle.
Spencer was a much better player than Dowdle at a much harder position to fill.

Yes. Absolutely, yes. One can see Rico making huge improvements every week the past few games.
I really wish Richards was still playing…..put him at LT and Guyton at RT the rest of the year with Hoff or Bass at guard and see what that line looks like. If needed, use high draft pick for top LT. Behind an actual good line and better oline coaching and scheme, Rico could be fine paired with a 3rd round back. Doesn’t have to be Jeanty, and if the line is bad, it may not even matter if it’s him.

Hell to the no !
Good player - would be so much better with a thumper type back leading and him being a slasher.
But now we would have to pay him - so NO !

The coming draft of the Cowboys will have all this team can do to satisfy the needs of this team without drafting 2 for the RB spot. Other just as needful positions would likely be left needy if that were the case. Rico isn't likely to command a contract that would harm more than help this team. There is a need to boost other positions that are also in need of help. Rico has already shown himself to be a capable #2 RB, imho. If this FO feels a need for a #3 backup RB to be taken, it should be left to a late round to do so.

Meh. He's worked his way up to decent backup.
He’s worked his way up to being a nice rotational player. Starting doesn’t matter too much. Add a guy and keep Rico and have a nice pair to carry the ball and carry the run game

Dowdle will be a solid # 2 behind an Ashton Jeanty, who is a home run hitter. I look at this team's offensive firepower and absent Cee Dee Lamb, there are no feared offensive threats. Look at Detroit and all of its offensive weapons, so much more talented than the Boys.

The Boys are ranked so low in so many offensive categories. There is no upper talent at WR. If Jeanty is gone, I would pick a stud impact WR at 1, RB in 2nd.

We are stuck with Dak, so he must be given speedier, impact players. Remember when Gallop came in as a rookie and for a few years? He would haul in some long passes and open up the field for others. This is missing on this team. I would also look for a 4.35 or faster WR at least 188 lbs from some small school who will not be drafted high, but can be groomed to provide speed in our offense

we need more speed; a burner at WR would help a lot
forget about Jeanty, he is going at least top ten.
BUT we could get a complimentary back later in the draft and between the two of them do a pretty good job

We keep losing in the trenches, but let's draft a WR and RB in round 1 and 2 after adding nothing in FA.
