Does Zeke have any shot at the Hall of Fame?

I mean Eli is going to get in with 2 rings for sure. Dak is better than Eli. 2 would do it with good stats.

No, he isn't. If Dak played during Eli's peak, he'd have similar numbers or worse....and he would have never made those throws Eli did in the Super Bowls.

I’m not sure Dak is better than Eli. Eli put up some big career numbers to go with those two rings. Plus he’s from the 1st family of the NFL.
Dak and Eli are almost opposites. Eli had a mediocre regular season stats, Daks are much better.

Eli had post season success, where Dak hasn't. Yet.

I wasn’t referring to Eli’s regular stats but his career stats .

I don't even think Eli's playoff stats were all that great.. He just had two nice post season runs.. If not for 2007 and 2011 his playoff passer rating would be in the 60's. Has any player ever gotten more mileage out of a couple of 4 game hot streaks? Other than those two post seasons he was horrible.. and in the regular season he was below average and well below what Dak has done to date.

I don't see any HOF candidates on this team with exception to #11 or #7. #11 is going to have put on a few more lbs. to play with his hand in the dirt in order to stay healthy but he has the potential and mind set for it.

I’m not sure horrible is an accurate summarization . He was inconsistent. But his longevity and never missing a game due to injury enabled him to put up some impressive career stats.

Eli ranks 8th all time in passing yards and 9th in TD’s NFL history and 1st in Giants history. Besides being a MVP in both SB wins he was a 4 time pro bowler.

How can you forget about #70 who is a lock and #77 is probably a pretty good bet.

He has less than 1% shot. If he embraces being a short yardage back then it may extend his career and help him but I don't see him making the HOF.

My apologies certainly #70 as well. #77 was borderline but he's only hurting himself if he can't get on the field. When he does, he struggles lately.

Both Smith and Martin are HOF.

It will be interesting to see. When you look at the active guys he is right at the top and I don't think you will see guys eclipse where he is that much in the future in todays NFL. He will make 10,000 I bet and if so he has as good a chance as anybody on the current list.

https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/active-carreer-rushing-leaders#:~:text=Mark Ingram has rushed for, active player, with 8,022 yards.

None of that is going to matter much because the NFL is very much aware that Zeke had about 2 elite seasons in the league and was force fed after that. 3x pro-bowl, 1x first team all-pro, 1x second team all-pro. I'm not even sure these are good enough for him to be on an all-decade team.

For comparison, Henry has the same but with an NFL OPOY award.

He's going to need to rack up quite a bit more stats. Seems the magic hall number is 12k+ career rushing yards unless you racked up a few Lombardi's. I think he'll settle somewhere in the Corey Dillion, Fred Taylor, Ricky Waters, Jamal Lewis space. Regarded as having a great career, but just a notch below hall of fame. Maybe he could eventually get in as a senior member, but he'll probably rack up atleast 10k to 12k rushing yards by the time he's done. If he takes on a more part time role maybe he can extend his career and push that higher.
I think the future requirements for a RB are going to change a bit. I don't think we see many, if any, 12000 yard backs anymore. The NFL has changed. What is the new criteria for a RB? I think it remains to be seen with all the 2 back systems going on these days and interchangeability of RB in a system!

If you look at yards per game, he had 4, and one of the fastest if not the fastest to reach 5000. In todays game of RB's and what it takes to get in in the future, Zeke is going to be right at the top of the list in all categories of RB's in his era. They are not going to stop putting RB's in in the future just because they don't reach 12000 yards.

He didn't have 4, he had 2 - 2016 and 2017 (which was cut short). After that, if you compare his numbers to other of the best backs in the league in 2018 was simply forcefed the ball. Barkley had a better season that year as did a few others.

If we are talking HOF, you have to at least be the best back in the league or in the conversation longer than a couple seasons. Even if I give him 2018, that's a flash in the pan. Right now the only back I can see as an outlier who doesn't have many award recognition is Nick Chubb - the dude is just phenomenal and the NFL is catching up.

Forced fed?? He average 20.8 carries per game in his first 4 years - what are you talking about!

And don't forget, in the champ game vs SF, Eli kept failing time after time and and kept getting bailed out by Kyle Williams and his D. Oh, and in that postseason, in 4 games, Eli only scored more than 24 pts one time. Mostly, he was ordinary. Not great by any means.

This is a case of Eli being overglorified and the recipient of false hindsight.
