Does Zeke have any shot at the Hall of Fame?

I’m not sure horrible is an accurate summarization . He was inconsistent. But his longevity and never missing a game due to injury enabled him to put up some impressive career stats.

Eli ranks 8th all time in passing yards and 9th in TD’s NFL history and 1st in Giants history. Besides being a MVP in both SB wins he was a 4 time pro bowler.
And he didn't deserve the MVP award in either. That award has become a running joke. If you're just going to give it to the winning Qb, quit calling it the MVP award.

And don't forget, in the champ game vs SF, Eli kept failing time after time and and kept getting bailed out by Kyle Williams and his D. Oh, and in that postseason, in 4 games, Eli only scored more than 24 pts one time. Mostly, he was ordinary. Not great by any means.

This is a case of Eli being overglorified and the recipient of false hindsight.

Eli Manning had a 103 rating in the 2011 playoffs/Super Bowl. San Fran was a tough team that year and it was a war. He was hardly "ordinary" in the playoffs lol

I don't see any HOF candidates on this team with exception to #11 or #7. #11 is going to have put on a few more lbs. to play with his hand in the dirt in order to stay healthy but he has the potential and mind set for it.
You don't see Zack and Tyron as HOFers? Man, you are smoking crack. I mean, you must be strictly a follow the ball fan who has no idea what the O and Dlines mean to a team.

Forced fed?? He average 20.8 carries per game in his first 4 years - what are you talking about!

The nearest NFL RB behind him in carries that year was 40+ carries behind him. Yes, he was freakin' force fed. This isn't 1990 anymore, if you are averaging 20 carries a game, you are a workhorse.

Completely disagree. I can't believe you're being fooled by bus driver numbers. He was a bus driver. Wasn't required to make many plays, as only one team scored 20 pts in the playoffs agains their D. More analysis needed for accuracy.

Or in any era. 300 carries has always been considered a heavy load. 20 carries/game comes out to 320 carries.

In 2012, for example, only one player had more than 320 carries. And only two players had 300.

20 is not force fed no matter what anyone else did. He was given 20 carries a game because he was averaging over 4.5 yrds per carry and we had a great oline and a rookie QB.

I am not arguing he makes it. I am arguing that he will be at the top in all stats of RB's in his era which automatically puts him in the running.

He is on the downside of his career. Only way he gets in is if he gets a couple of rings. I doubt if he will ever be top 5 in rushing anymore. PS. Hope I'm wrong.

That bus driver made two of the best throws in NFL history - one of them legitimately being pinpoint accuracy. "Bus drivers" don't make that throw. We can talk about how Eli played through the majority of his career, but the simple fact is, on the biggest stage in the brightest lights he showed up and played great.

Anyone saying otherwise is just blinded by hatred. Eli won two Super Bowls because he made the tough throws necessary to win.

His greatest attribute was durability. How rare to play 16 years and not miss one game due to injury.

Id best describe Eli as inconsistent. But his longevity finishing top 10 in NFL passing yards and TD’s along with 2 SB MVP’s , the Giants all time leading passer and 4 Pro Bowls will certainly provide him some consideration into the HOF.

Not 1st ballot but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get in eventually. And being from the 1st family of the NFL won’t hurt. Here’s to the next generation of Manning’s . What a great story. It’s everything that’s good about the NFL.

Yes, yes it is lol

When his freakin' peers were nowhere near his amount of carries, he was being force fed the ball. There is a reason the vast majority of RBs in the league aren't getting that amount of carries and the load is being split - like it is now for Zeke. Zeke got wear and tear on his body BECAUSE of that workload since college.

Great description. Best performances on the biggest stages.

We must always remember that “ Impact” is also a qualifier for induction. And how guys like Namath and Gayle Sayers got in . And our beloved Jimmy Johnson.

Anyone who thinks he was great is blinded by something, that's for sure!!!

C'mon, Matt, you've been watching football longer than that. Bus drivers make great throws at times. It's the consistency that escapes them, mostly. Which is what Eli lacked.

BTW, we can do w/o the silly blinded talk. That's grade school stuff, and you know that also.

Needs to get to 12000 yards or 11000 and a Super Bowl ring or Super Bowl MVP which John Riggins has.

Agree w/ all of that. And he made a great throw at the right time, for sure.

I've been watching football long enough to know that bus drivers don't make this type of throw in these moments.

Eli Manning didn't have the best career of any QB, he did, however, have some of the best playoff and Super Bowl performances because he dug deep and made these throws in clutch moments. This is the opposite of a bus driver, which you labeled him. Of course his defense played well, it is still a team game - but they were down in both Super Bowls and Eli's clutch play brought them back to topple the greatest NFL dynasty 2x
