Wrong on so many levels. I don't think you even read the quote.

You're right. I did read the quote, but upon reading it again, I think I now understand the context in which Pederson spoke.

As a Cowboys fan, I immediately saw "Eagles" and attached a negative connotation to the comment. I guess it happens....

“He didn’t have to win the games for them,” Pederson said of Prescott with the Cowboys, who lost in the divisional playoffs after a 13-3 regular season. “He knew that he had a good defense, a tremendous offensive line, a great runner. He had some veteran players that he could rely on and he learned that early, as soon as he had the opportunity to play and that was from day one. That’s something that a young quarterback sometimes, takes them awhile to figure out the game that way. That’s the impressive thing is he learned to handle that business that well, utilize the people around him, and understand that he didn’t have to go win the game.”

He obviously meant this as a compliment in a way to not discredit Carson Wentz. I am guessing Pederson checked out during his first matchup against Dak where he came alive late in the game and stole a victory with his clutch, late game heroics.

Hopefully the competitor in Dak reads this as a NFC East foe trying to downplay his accomplishments.
lol, Pederson......the only reason he has a HC gig id because he was the last man standing after others turned it down.

LOL. GB, Eagles, SF, Minn? Two of those games he was awful in. The other 2 he was very shaking in the first half, and the running game was the driving force (this could be said about the running game for pretty much every game this season).

Which is why he was 7-1 when Zeke ran for less than 100 yards?

No one (or at least I'm not) saying he won the games on his own like romo. But he definitely wasn't a passenger. And he definitely lead some game winning drives

Dak was only shaky in one of those games- the first half against the Eagles. And he came through big in the 4th on OT then.

He was not bad in the Vikings game. He passed for just 139 yards, but only threw 18 times (12 completions)! Minnesota controlled time of possession in that game and Dak and the offense deserve credit for coming up with enough points to win with their limited chances.

As for the playoff loss to Green Bay- Prescott threw for 302 yards and became the first rookie quarterback in the Super Bowl era with three TD passes in his postseason debut. There are many reasons the Cowboys lost that game and Dak isn't one of them. If you're wondering about his one interception, the Cowboys intercepted Aaron Rodgers on the ensuing Packers drive, so it was a wash.

I remember a certain situation our defense put him in in the 1st quarter of a playoff game and then him going toe to toe with the best Aaron Rodgers had.

You really don't like Dak, do you? Or you think he's a product of "the system" vs. a franchise, difference-making QB?

I like him fine, but I think the team helped him a ton more than he helped them last year. I think it's kind of silly to think otherwise.

I can relate to that.

Single players don't go 7-1. Teams do. I guess I have a different definition of "lead."

He was awful against Philly and Min (he had one big yardage play when Dez blew by his man - and a bad throw kept it from a TD). He was shaky at GB the first half (and partially into the 2nd half). He was shaky the first half against SF. I didn't say anything about the playoff game, but they lost (and yes, Dak contributed to that), so who cares?

No, you said the running game, or Zeke, won most of the games. The record for the TEAM was 7-1 when Zeke didn't break 100. So obviously the didn't rely solely on him.

Dak had the most outstanding rookie QB season ever by most people's opinions, especially based on expectations, yet 'fans' of the team itself will try to downplay it as much as possible. Calling him a bus driver while he went for 20+ TDs, less than 5 INTs, over 60% completion and 13 wins is nonsense. Two vets barely got a win last year, so it's not like anyone can do it.

Wow, now I see how fake news is spread. Anything can be taken out of context. Please listen to the doomsday podcast. It's a minor lesson on overreacting to news clips.
