There’s backs that weren’t drafted that we’ll likely bring in but it won’t be until next year before we’ll be able to hopefully get our hands on a quality back. Hopefully the RB group next April is stronger than this years draft class.
This is something people were saying last year too.

Remember they got cute at WR the year at WR after Dez left and we were HORRIBLE until we got Amari. Rico can play but we need some other legit weapons.
jerry said he watched zeke play at the end of last year and he says zeke is 100% starting caliber in 2024.

yep, they still have options...plus I think Zeke will be better than any RB they could get in day 3 of the draft....no worries for me.

Ecstatic they finally focused on the trenches....thats gonna help the run game regardless who the RB is.
Am I living in Bizarro World? Zeke has been done for the last 3 years. Just stop it. Dallas will probably sign some TC cut but they are probably stuck with what they have.

We didn’t have as big a need last year and we drafted Vaughn who the fan base was going crazy over. We had Pollard, Dowdle, Jones, Davis and Vaughn. Currently our RB situation looks muck bleaker. Pollard is gone and Vaughn hardly saw the field. Even if we bring in an undrafted FA, can’t imagine they’ll improve our RB situation. It’s going to take a trade or a premium pick next April to find a quality starting RB.

Having combed through all the other teams' depth charts, and salary situations, have to agree that Dowdle is about the best option for RB1 that we can legitimately expect. Aren't any teams that appear to be in such dire straits that they're going to unload their first or second RB right now.

Not happy to say that, but not completely pissed about it either.

Have to add, I'm still curious to see Vaughn get a significant load of preseason work and behind the starting O-line. Always seemed to me that he couldn't get more than a handful of sporadic snaps any time he got on the field, and at that, always with the second stringers. His strength is his wiggle and elusiveness, and that was severely compromised because the opposing defense seemed to get so much penetration practically every time he got into a game.

I can't help but wonder about Hunter Luepke and where he fits into all this equation. I know he's probably considered more of a FB, but he's still on the roster.

Name a 4/5 round RB that could come in make difference in this league. Most are practice squad material or bench warmers. Cowboys still have options (limited yes) but have options. I.E. Kareem Hunt and Zeke then you will TC/Vet cuts coming. There not bell weather RB anymore but they can be productive.

If I were in charge he would be our #1 back ahead of Rico.

Clearly we need to bring Moore back.. that way we won't have to worry about RBs at all.

He's got the talent. He looked the part behind Pollard last season. Even looked better than Pollard most of the time in the first half of the season.

It's just a matter of him staying healthy.

Zeke or whoever will be RB2 can play the role Rico played last year.
Dowdle is RB3 level in a contender

He was also touted as a good receiver out of the backfield.

Snoop Conner was also brought in as a bruiser/short yardage specialist.

No excuses. The offensive line run game appears to be upgraded with Tyler B and Tyron off the team. Holes should be there. Teams certainly won’t put 8 in the box.
Also add in there are no guaranteed spots for these rookies so they're going to have to fight for the positions they were drafted for and yes some of them probably are going to end up starting for sure the center Beebee it could be our next TravisF...

I don't think Terence steele's jobs 100% safe I think they went heavy on tackles you got guys leftover from last year they were very confident in Hoffman bass and even Richards and then they go late in the draft and undrafted free agents and bring in more tackles I think Terrence steel could end up being a swing tackle if he starts out slow and preseason or doesn't look the part he can lose his job I'm not saying he's going to be cut he's making too much money but he could lose his starting job and end up being a swing tackle and then you add in we still have Edoga..

So again my opinion is there's going to be some battles at all those positions except for Zach Martin and Tyler Smith,

there's going to be best man wins because I don't think they're going to just roll with who they're comfortable with by name, they're going to be like camp battles preseason, training camp, the practices we don't see they brought in enough bodies that they could rebuild this entire OL, the way Kansas City did their offensive line about three years ago... they pretty much got rid of everybody...

Agree with you concerning the line depth. Best line we have had in years, I think we have 8 guys you can play in a game at any given moment.

Terrance Steele is the highest paid linemen on the team. He would have to be really bad to be benched.

No. He’s not a starter in this league. Period.
