ok they can;t do that? since when if both parties agree, can you not amend a contract in the NFL?
The problem is the dead money for trading him is because of bonuses already paid. So it’s not just amending the contract, it’s asking him to pay 20-30m dollars back to Dallas. I can’t fathom anyone would do that

But I think Dallas can eat the cap hit this year. His cap hit is 50 and trading dead money is 50, so it would be a wash

When previously paid guaranteed money has already changed hands.

Show me the last guy who ‘gave back’ tens of millions of dollars and then we can talk.

No one is crucifying Dak. He was the single biggest reason for the loss yesterday. Those other plays you mentioned were minor imperfections. There were plays to be made. Dak just did not make them. If he was one of the best players on the team-he would have made them. Yesterday is the ceiling with Dak. Geno put up 23 points one week ago with a vastly inferior offense against this same defense.
he wasn't the single biggest reason. he was one of many. or are you not putting any blame on the Zeke, Pollard combo going 16 for 48 yards a whopping average of 3 YPC....is that how you are suppose to run in the post season. Zeke is the highest paid RB in the league and got 2.6 YPC. dropped a sure TD. had 2 catches for 7 yards (and so did pollard).

and then your other 3 WRs combined for 36 yards. when CD got 117....so there was passing lanes and options, except the three of them sucked at it. CD some how got open.

nah, you are blaming one person. he had a big fault in all of this. but he was far from being alone in it.

Only good to come from last night’s debacle is that more of the media and fanbase is turning on this fraud
Wish it was true but Jerry just gives the middle finger to fans, Dak is a top2 to 3 QB in his mind who he drafted so nothing will change. If he’s smart draft a QB and bench Dak until he demands a trade but it will not happen, look for that big extension this offseason as Jerry flips the fans off again

I think Moore needs to go along with this move and if you really like Mike let him call his offense! We need to eventually start changing things. We’ve seen this movie
This exactly, Dak is an issue, KM compounds it with his scheme. If you trust MM let him go get what he needs and run his offense. If he will not move his arss out also.

Once Dak knows he won’t be starting he will beg to be traded and with luck some other team will need a QB in week 3 or 4 because of injury. If not then let him sit all year long. Bye Dak.
Or because they're the Steelers.

Should have been drafting a QB every other year anyway. The one time they did they quickly shipped him out so Dak would know he was our forever starter. This is what happens when you anoint a player and they no longer have to compete for the position.

I am honestly sad to say. I am hoping for a bunch of injuries next year so we lose a bunch of games an have a legit chance at Drake Maye. Its time. Mahomes on one leg looked better than Dak last night. This team will not use FA to put players around Dak to help so we might as well draft his replacement.
You went from a defender of all things Dak to hoping for injuries and loses to get rid of him lol

Also, how about Zeke? STILL under 1,000 yards rushing.

Good points and makes sense but it won’t happen. It feels good to write it from a therapeutic stand point and it’s cathartic but also a waste of bandwidth. Maybe they should but they won’t get rid of dak he’s their guy and he’s gonna be the starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Everyone that watched yesterday’s game knows exactly why the Cowboys lost.

Enough time, money, and resources have been invested in Dak Prescott to get to a Championship. And it hasn’t happened.

And if you’re a rational organization, you admit that and realize it’s unlikely that it ever will.

Now because of poor management, you’re financially stuck with the player and two years of the contract. But that doesn’t mean you have to be stuck on the field.

Draft a quarterback.

Send a message to the incumbent and give yourself another valid option. And allow yourself an ‘out’ from the disappointing results and financial burden.

It’s time.

unlike many, who just want to Bash Dak and blame entirety of our franchise demise on one player (28 years of it), I don't buy into a single player being responsible. this was a collective screw up and many had a hand in it and many contributed, Dak included as one of the worst. with that said, when three of your WRs combine to get 36 total yards, and the other gets 117 yards+ then it tells me the rest suck. one player was able to find enough openings and make incredible catches. the others just ran around the field like key stone cops. when the highest paid RB in NFL history gets all of 26 yards and average 2.6 yards per carry, then he has to burden some of the blame. when the second round pick DB, shies away from making contact and ducks under a tackle and allows a big play, then yeah, he shoulder blame. this is football. tackle someone. when that same DB, has the ball hit him square in the hand, and chest area and he drops the ball at the most crucial point of the game, then yeah, that player deserves some blame. when the TE fails to get both feet on the ground, with no one around him, then yeah, he is stupid. simple play. make it. and yes, Dak had to make better decisions. throw the ball away. be smarter. in a close game, where a field goal or a single mistake could make the difference, you have to be 100% sure it won't be intercepted. if the game was 30+ each team at that point, perhaps I wouldn't have cared as much, but understand the situation. and don't get me started on the coaches.

like I said, unlike many, with an agenda, I don't have any. I fault many in this debacle. it took the whole village to screw up to get here.
Your whole premise is destroyed in one play. The play was even highlighted on ESPN this morning. On the seam route Dak threw low to a covered CeeDee, Hilton was wide open on the left seam with just grass between him and the end zone. They even said it was obvious based on the pre snap read. Dak can’t read defenses and throws to covered receivers all the time while others are open. That’s not a problem with receivers.

I am officially out on Dak. I do not care when next year comes around and he has 3 or 4 really good games, because that is who he is. He is very capable of having very good games. But damn near every time he has a chance to make an impact on this team in a meaningful game, he is terrible. We didnt need him to be great, we just needed the rookie Dak. The Dak that didnt turn it over.

I dont want to hear jack squat about how thi sis a team game. The rest of the team did their part, the QB, ONCE AGAIN, did not. I dont want to hear about Jerry and any talk of "Culture," nothing Jerry or anyone else did is why Dak threw 2 and could have easily been 4 picks last night.

I dont want to hear anyone talk about his leadership. And I certainly dont give a damn about Dak going to the podium any longer and talking about how he will get better. Enough. You are pushing 30 my friend. You are what you are.

Draft Stetson from Ga in about round 4. He won't get the yips and is more accurate then Dak. His only faults are he's already 25 and he ain't big.

I actually disagree. There are teams who see him as a top 10 QB.
Not even close. The entire league knows exactly what he is. You only have the slim, slim hope that some organization is in such a dire need that they feel he's the best available option. Even then, what fan base is going to be energized by his signing?

If they have been in QB hell, maybe it's a slight upgrade. That's your only hope to move this guy. Even then, you'll have to give him away but if you can get out from the contract it's worth it.
