You just never know. Dallas hasn't had a good track record with linemen, but the Cowboys have had seventh-round picks like Ratliff turn out to be finds.

Keep following the board Cowboys, wherever it might lead you.

NFL Draft Scout ranks him as a 3-4th rounder. Some had him as a solid third rounder some didn't.

I'm really curious now about our next pick.

On the OL, this draft is telling you a lot of how they currently feel about who is on the team. You may not agree with it but... Still I'd like to see a C.

It tells me that other teams took the better offensive linemen on Dallas's board prior to Dallas getting on the clock.

It happens.

Well, yes, but most draft picks don't work out and sometimes teams make picks that are transparently stupid in the draft. Just trusting the scouts doesn't make that much more sense than instinctively rejecting a guy you haven't heard of.

Well, in the last two years they've done well.

I would have tried to get him a bit later, but none of are can see their board.

There's been a heavy run on OL. There's not many good ones left.

I'd rather go with Arkin and Nagy than draft the 50th best OG in this year's draft.

Even if the 50th-best OG actually turns out to be the second best? And don't tell me that hasn't happened because there are several examples of it.

never got more than a handful of sacks in his entire college career. What are the chances he figures it out in the pros?

I think that's hard to project. You never know what a guy could do with good pro coaching and development. Plus, take guys like Butler and Brandon Williams, who had a ton of sacks in college. You just never know.

They're talking about him with Eberflus right now, and he's describing him as a very smart, tough, hard-working player. Likes his athletic ability, and that he's already good in coverage and rerouting TE's. Says he has some pass rush ability, but acknowledges that he has a couple of things to learn.
