Gimme your draft hot takes fast and concise.

Here's mine:

  • Restating what I said weeks ago, CB Desmond King is at best a 2nd-3rd round prospect.
  • I think WR Dede Westbrook has been a bit slept on heading toward the draft. If he can keep his head on straight off-the-field, I think Dede Westbrook could be one of the more productive receivers coming out. He reminds me alot of Marvin Harrison and Emmanuel Sanders.
  • There's a ton of draft buzz with Solomon Thomas, but I'm not as enamored. His film shows a guy that could beat most college OGs matched up 1-on-, but I don't see a true RDE that can win the edge and he doesn't have much of a pass rush repitiore. Even when inside he's undersized, getting manhandled when double-teamed and washed out. I think he's a LDE that needs more polish to become an effective pressure player.
  • This sounds like a dig, but QB Brad Kaaya reminds me of a young Brad Johnson; an efficient passer that won't necessarily beat you his arm talent (ala Matt Stafford or Aaron Rogers) but can play within an offense scheme and be effective moving the ball.
  • Marshon Lattimore is the best CB in the draft and there's not even a close second (not Quincy Wilson, Teez Tabor, Sidney Jones, etc.).
What are yours?

1)Mahomes is going to rise as the draft approaches
2) Cam Robinson doesnt deserve to be drafted in the first RD,he should play Guard.
3)Reddick will go in the 1st RD.
4)Dalvin Cook is a better player than Fournette.
5)Cowboys will not draft at 28.

Dallas wont draft a DE until later. Maybe a Joe Mathis type.
4 or more 4th round or later WR's will have productive careers.
An OT going in the 4th rd or later will end up being better than Cam Robinson
The 2017 NFL draft will be remembered for it's quality Safeties and TE's
Dallas will make a surprise cut.

Njokou is going to kill at the combine and will be the first TE selected (top 15).
Adoree Jackson will show he is a world class athlete at the combine. Some teams will be enamored and he goes round one. Obi Melifonwu same thing and I hope he doesnt end up here.

Would you be OK with Adoree at 28?

Honestly I would prefer that he did one thing (cover) really well, instead of three things pretty well. Theoretically he saves you two roster spots (deep WR and KR) so you can have a couple extra JAG pass rushers on the roster. Guy definitely makes plays with the ball in his hands. I am a little concerned about WRs making big plays the other way. He seems like a guy that trusts his physical abilities too much and not enough technique.

No one on this board will be happy with our first pick.
I think the basic problem is that we wont be privy to their board (obviously) so we really wont know how the guy ranked on their board at the time of the draft. Most media types are saying 12-15 first round grades this year. I'd rather one of the 12-15 at 28, and lets say it is an offensive player, than forcing some pass rusher who is like 25th with a second round grade, who gets 1.5 sacks next year and four pressures.

I think that's just the thing though. Because he is so athletically gifted, that he hasn't felt the need to put in the time technique wise. I think with coaching and focus (to go along with with his physical abilities), he can be as good as any other CB in this class.

As far as him playing wr, I rather he didn't. No more offense, no more track...just focus on being a corner.

With all that said, I'm personally not convinced that he is 5'11". If he measures under 5'10", no way do I spend a first on him.

Cowboys could forgo D again and take offense. Some top 15 talent that falls due to injury, combine idiocy or off field issues. WR Corey Davis, RB/KR/WR Christian McCaffrey, OT Cam Robinson.

What's the off-field deal on McCaffrey?
