Been doing my mocks...and have noticed a few trends I will share.

-CB position is deep through the first 3 rounds..you don't need to reach for one in round 1.

-the DE position/pass rushers is pretty deep as well after the first couple of rounds.

Tanoh Kpassagnon Villanova
Carroll Phillips Illinois
Tarell Basham Ohio
Ryan Anderson Alabama
Chris Wormley Michigan
Joe Mathis OLB Washington
Deatrich Wise Jr. DE Arkansas
Bryan Cox Jr DE/DT Florida
Derek Rivers DE Youngstown St.
Garrett Sickels DE Penn St.
Daeshon Hall DE Texas A&M
Devonte Fields DE Louisville
Trey Hendrickson DE Florida Atlantic
Darius English OLB S. Carolina
Alex Barrett DE/OLB San Diego St.
Josh Carraway DE TCU

There are plenty of good WRs after the first couple of rounds...

Dede Westbrook WR Oklahoma
Cooper Kupp WR E. Washington
Isaiah Ford WR Virginia Tech
K.D. Cannon WR Baylor
Amara Darboh WR Michigan
Malachi Dupre WR LSU
Chad Hansen WR California
Noah Brown WR Ohio St.
Carlos Henderson WR Louisiana Tech
Travis Rudolph WR Florida St
Jehu Chesson WR Michigan
Josh Reynolds WR Texas A&M
Jalen Robinette WR Air Force
Josh Malone WR Tennessee
Damore'ea Stringfellow WR Ole Miss
Chris Godwin WR Penn St.
Stacy Coley WR Miami
Ricky Seals-Jones WR Texas A&M
Chad Williams WR Grambling St.

Probably could add 10 more names to that list.:p

-If you want an impact DT...you better get one early. Same for SS....and ILBer. Think that is gonna be a hot commodity.

-The quality of O-lineman this year is poor....after the top teir guys are gone.

-Could be some sneaky quality picks @ QB..day 3.

Brad Kaaya QB Miami
Patrick Mahomes QB Texas Tech
Davis Webb QB Cal
Joshua Dobbs QB Tennessee
Nathan Peterman QB Pittsburgh
Sefo Liufau QB Colorado

-OL Guys that I think are gonna get drafted....But I wouldn't touch:rolleyes: Look like pass protection liabilities.

Zach Banner T/G USC
Adam Bisnowaty RT Pittsburgh
David Sharpe OT Florida
Erik Magnuson RT Michigan

-A lot of quality RBs late.....But isn't that always the case?

-Got a feeling TE Jake Butt is gonna slide because of the knee injury. Too many quality players to take a chance on a TE w/ a injuried knee. Last year Nick Vannette slid to late round 3...w/o a a knee injury. Same type of player. Wouldn't shock me to see JB slide to day 3...a team like Chicago w/ multiple 4ths take a chance.

-Myles Garrett DE Texas A&M....I wouldn't take him #1. Takes too many plays off for my taste.

-The best player/most bang for the buck... in this draft might be...Malik Hooker FS Ohio St.:D

-Players I love/pet cats...

Malik Hooker FS Ohio St. (3 contract player)
Solomon Thomas DT Stanford (3 contract player)
Corey Davis WR WMU
Reuben Foster LB Alabama
Tim Williams LB Alabama
Raekwon McMillan MLB Ohio St
Zach Cunningham LB Vanderbilt
Dan Feeney RG Indiana
Zay Jones WR E. Carolina
DeMarcus Walker DE FSU
D'Onta Foreman RB Texas
Jarron Jones DE5 Notre Dame
Carlos Watkins DT Clemson
Obi Melifonwu SS Connecticut
Fabian Moreau CB UCLA
Jake Butt TE Michigan
Deatrich Wise Jr. DE Arkansas
Derek Rivers DE Youngstown St.
Ejuan Price LB/DE Pittsburgh
Tyus Bowser OLB Houston
Ahmad Thomas SS Oklahoma
Lorenzo Jerome FS St. Francis
Trey Hendrickson DE Florida Atlantic
Dimitric Camiel RT Indiana
Keionta Davis DE Chattanooga
Connor Harris LB Lindenwood
Gehrig Dieter WR Alabama

Nice write up Floaty but you are dreaming if you think Mahomes ends up day 3. What is the golden rule? QBs are ALWAYS over drafted and this years crop has a particularly bad aroma.

I guess you take him higher if you think he is starter material. I don't. Think he would make a nice backup. Got him going to
the Titans. Round 4.

I'm think Williams is really good too but I'm with on Corey Davis, he could be a better TO at the high end. And I'd be ecstatic if the top DEs were gone but we got Davis at 28.
Also agree with whomever said Dalvin Cook over Fournette. I've loved Cook since early last season, guy is dynamite!

My take, the browns will blow their top picks like they have every year for about 20.

Disagree with the OP that King isn't worth more than a third or late second. I think he can play...possibly safety but he finds the ball. He's also a good PR.
I really do like Williams, just nowhere near Davis. It's more of a praise of him than a bash of Williams. If Williams hits that ceiling of his he might be Hopkins or Dez like. I would rather see a player get open more often than one who has to always make the contested catch though. I feel separation translates much better.

I agree on Cook as well. Something about Fournette worries me and I can't quite pinpoint it. He's another one I want to see at the combine and that might alleviate that some.

I don't think that's going to hurt him.

I agree, but you just never know, refusing to play to avoid injury could affect teams differently. He could also run higher than a 4.4 and that could drop him too because he's not 100% recovered from that undisclosed injury last season (he wasn't as spectacular after coming back to play).

Seems the Top 3 are pretty much set - Trubisky, Watson, Kizer. Is Mahomes 4th?

I wouldn't say in that order.....And I think David Webb is gonna scream up draft boards after the SR Bowl. 4th or 5th guy...

I wasn't trying to rank them in any order. Just seems that there is a clear Top 3 of QBs in this class.

Dallas will stay true to the draft board, i.e. they will have between 15 and 20 guys rated as 1st round and if they are all gone, they will entertain a trade down.
A WR could be Dallas' 1st pick if someone like Corey Davis falls or Mike Williams, they are both great but teams above us will go different directions
Expect the draft sites to change their ranking ten times over the next 70+ days
Dallas will not have a QB rated a 1st round choice but yet no less than 3 will go in the 1st round
RB will be overdrafted thanks to Dallas and Elliott
Cam Robinson should be a 2nd round choice but will go 1st round as will several other OL not currently rated in the 1st
Safety might be the most overdrafted position in the draft
Despite the sentiment, Romo will net Dallas two extra picks in draft in rounds higher than anyone suspect currently
Dallas will surprise with an unknown pick at DE in the middle rounds

i don't know about unknown but it'll be a pick that most won't be happy with regarding improving the pass rush i.e. Josh Carraway in round 3. We aren't signing JPP or any other name people want to sling around.

RBs overdrafted because NFL is a copycat league.

Two or three mid-round QBs go in 2 because of Dak effect.

If OJ or Njoku are available, Cowboys pick TE.

Cowboys pick a RB late.

Cowboys make a trade, up or down, to acquire a 5th round pick.

If FA makes it apparent Cowboys will have multiple comp picks in 2018, a trade-up becomes more likely.
