My biggest disappointment. Easy, having to watch the draft on ESPN, and having to listen to then talk about how smart they are instead of actually covering the draft.....

I actually turned down the TV sound and tuned in to Norm and Larry Brown on the Ticket.

I'd say all of the receivers getting drafted before our pick in the second round. I was hoping Hardy or Sweed would fall to us.
That's mine too. No receiver dropping in the 2nd, I liked Hardy. I would have been happy with Burton or Monk later on.

I knew Hardy would be gone early after all the receivers fell out of the 2nd, and since we made a move to get Jenkins and losing that 5th and 7th, I just knew Jerry wouldn't make a move again to get up in the 2nd because it would have meant getting like 4 players this draft or giving up picks next year.

And then I saw Sweed falling and prayed he would make it to us, but I knew he wouldn't get past the Titans anyway, so we were going to get screwed out of all the good receivers.

One of the worst though was seeing us take Walden with the first pick in the 6th, when half of us had been chanking "Monk! Monk! Monk!" since the end of the 4th round. Not only was he still on the board after we took a guy that would probably have gone undrafted, but he ended up getting signed in the last freaking round.

For me at first was the Mendenhal -Jones debacle...But really the low point was selecting a TE over a WR and letting the Giants take MArio. That has to be the low point, What was Jerry thinking? a TE? Time to give up that Gm hat Jerry.

JERRY a TE? W T F:banghead:

What dissapointed me the most?

Jerry didn't pick up the phone when I tried calling him to tell him who and when to pick the players I wanted.

Second year in a row this has happened. I'm thinking of going down there. :D

The draft picks we made were all solid

the most disappointing thing was the coverage...ESPN's looks better on the screen, but the coverage itself was pathetic

I don't think all of the picks were solid. Trading away the 3rd rd. pick with Andre Caldwell & Manningham still available was not a wise decision. I couldn't believe that, according to DC.com, VP Stephen Jones said, "You want a player who ultimately can be a starter, and we didn't see it." He would also say when it came to wide receivers that the club didn't have a first-round grade on any of the wide receivers, meaning none of the 10 selected in the second round.

So, what he's saying is that in 2-3 yrs., when both Owens & Glenn are gone, neither Hardy, Sweed, Thomas, nor Kelly could have beaten out the backups we have now. Man, and I was hoping that someone who knew what they were doing would take over once Jerra got too old. With his sons looking as lost as he does regarding the draft, the future doesn't bode well for the Cowboys.

I also think that trading the #100 pick with Tyvon Branch sitting there was a dumb move. I believe he is going to turn out to be one of the best CBs, if not THE best to come out of this draft. We should have been drafting to win this year, not stocking up picks for next year. I want to win now! Scandrick, if he pans out at all, will be a backup for at least 3-4 yrs.

Finally, I didn't even know who the **** Walden was. Ahtyba Rubin, NT, Iowa St. was taken several picks later by the Browns. He is a strong, massive space eater who is tailor made to take out two OLs, and free up LBs to do their job. That would have allowed Ratliff to move to his more natural spot at DE/PR.

For me it was taking Felix at #22 with Mendenhall on the board. Dallas could have taken Jenkins at #22 and still taken Felix at #28. I believe Jerry didn't think Mendenhall and Jenkins would fall that far (nobody did) and didn't know what to do in that situation since he hadn't planned for it.

I thought it was documented that Felix Jones would of been picked up by Tenn with the 24th pick. and Houston really liked Jenkins....

If Dallas picked Jenkins at 22....IMHO....we would of traded down with the 28th...seeing how our 21 1st rd grade players would all be off the board.

My only disappointment was I overcooked the rib's and ran out of my favorite beer. Far as the draft went I think we took care of our biggest needs by far and actually set ourselves up for doing some wheeling and dealing next year to hopefully acquire a good wide receiver, or a monster inside linebacker.

How can u overcook ribs? :)

Nothing disappointed me. I think this is a great draft. I like the two players the Cowboys got in the first. Mendenhall = overrated. There were no receivers worth picking. Better to pick up Roy Williams as a free agent next year than draft a nobody this year.
