Owens suspended from camp
Reid sends unhappy receiver home after T.O. fails to fulfill autograph obligations

Pro Football Weekly has learned that Eagles WR Terrell Owens was suspended from training camp Wednesday for an undetermined length of time after Owens refused to honor a commitment in his contract for an autograph-signing session that he skipped out on Saturday, according to a source close to the team.
Head coach Andy Reid met with the entire team today — a slightly unusual occurrence in between practices — and reminded the players that they needed to fulfill certain NFL-mandated obligations, including the fan autograph session. Owens reportedly told Reid that he was not going to keep those kinds of commitments while he’s unhappy about his current contract status, and that’s when Reid sent Owens packing.
It’s believed Owens will spend the night in New Jersey. The Eagles break camp Sunday.
It’s not clear if Owens will return to the team before then. Reid is expected to speak later tonight on the matter.
Owens and agent Drew Rosenhaus have spent most of the summer embroiled in a contract dispute with Reid and the Eagles’ front office. One year into a seven-year deal potentially worth $48.86 million, Owens and Rosenhaus felt the All-Pro receiver had “outplayed” the deal. The Eagles refused to redo it so early into the contract, and though the Owens camp had threatened to hold out, he showed up on time on Aug. 1.
