The difference is we waited until Dak had us over a barrel. The Eagles are being proactive and it works to their benefit. They are getting him for the next 7 years at the current going rate but the hits don't really kick in until the 3rd year. Meanwhile we let Dak play out his deal, then franchised him, which meant from the get go he was getting the current rate.

I think the Eagles were nuts to overpay, but that's a good thing for their divisional opponents. Good for him but it was a mistake for his team.

It will come back to bite them. Awesome.

I just hope Dak doesn't get a big head about this and want more.
A QB who is the best in the NFC and 2nd in MVP voting is going to get paid.

Wow! You would think that Hurts won a championship for Dallas with all the praise, love and admiration.
'Starforever' - you've been a Cowboys Zoner for quite sometime now.
The site has long been infiltrated by Eagles fans.
I started viewing in a little over five years ago - January 2018 - and joined 2-1/2 years later...August 2020.
It was under the radar - but still discernable back then - that there were green & white trolls masquerading as Cowboys Fans.
With today's news, we haved viewed a few that have come out of the woodwork to applaud the deal.

Yeah I don't think Kingsbury did him any favors nor the receiver who got caught taking performance enhancing drugs.....its a mess out there.
As a Tech alum., I would be surprised if Kingsbury hurt Murray’s development. One thing Kingsbury knows is how to develop QB’s and put them in positions to succeed. His QB resume is really impressive including Manziel & Mahomes and it looks like he is going to get hired to coach last year’s Heisman winner. I don’t think he was ready to be an NFL head coach but as long as Murray was receptive, he should have grown with Kingsbury. And they have known each other since Murray.

Goodbye surrounding talent.
Maybe? Maybe not. No one would be shocked if they traded back from pick 10 and picked up a 2024 first. That would leave them with two firsts in 2023 and the following in 2024...
2 firsts
2 seconds
2 thirds
3 fourths
2 fifths
They can stay super competitive IF they draft well.

I've read several sources saying they may trade back from pick 10 (taking Bijan in mid row) and picked up a 2024 first.

Josh Rosen sucked. Johnny Manziel sucked. And Pat Mahomes got better getting the hell away from him.

Wrong. Dak's contract.
2021 $17.2 mill cap hit
2022 $19.7 mill cap hit
2023 $28.8 million

Omg. Lol. It wasn’t even a real game… it was over by halftime due to fluke run of injuries And you seem to be giving it more relevance in terms of evaluating hurts, than the Super Bowl? Any NFL quarterback could’ve won that game… ridiculously dumb analysis.
I’m not evaluating hurst at all. Just simply saying he had an easy ride. Didn’t have to do squat.
only dumb thing is your inability to understand a simple point.

and no any qb doesn’t win that game. Any qb surrounded by what hurts was surrounded by probably. And now maybe you understand my point better.

Their fans were terrible this past season so I hope we get to watch a few years of the Eagles failing after paying their star QB. History is not on Jalens side after that SB loss.

Ok…I appreciate the feedback, I didn’t realize. Manziel under Kingsbury was the first freshman ever to win the Heisman. Recruited Mahomes to Tech and he left Tech with 22 FBS records and was a R1 draft pick. If you like, I can add Case Keenam who did pretty good while they were at Houston. He had a few accomplishments like becoming the NCAA’s all time leader in passing yards, TD’s, and completions, passed for over 5000 yards in 3 seasons, and numerous other awards, and was snubbed for the Heisman. Not sure what Rosen has to do with anything. And I guarantee neither Mahomes or Manziel share your hot sports opinion. Mahomes has talked about the influence Kingsbury had on him many times and Manziel wasn’t the same once Kingsbury left.

What are you talking about? This can only help the Ravens.
They offered less in guaranteed money & % guaranteed and he rejected it. As long as no one signed a QB to a higher % guaranteed money, they could say Cleveland was a ludicrous exception to the market. Now that the Eagles have given 70% guaranteed, its hard for them to say 50% is the best he can ask for.

The report said the Ravens offered Jackson guaranteed $133 million at signing, $175 million if he got injured, and $200 million springing guarantee if he is on the roster on the fifth day of 2026 league year
