It seems some folks manage cap space better than others. And the Eagles are somehow now projected to be 100 million under the cap next year.

What a crazy story, good for them.

You haters are hopeless. Not sure what your talkin about Mr. Narrative about me predicting 8 wins? What I can predict is that QB of ours throwin picks and pick sixessss again to lose the important game. Facts.
It never ends. Hurts deal will look small compared to theirs. And 4 or 5 years from now, some guy that's not even in the NFL right now, will be signing HIS 2nd contract for 5 years 600 million, with 400 guaranteed.Wait until Burrow, Herbert and Lawrence get their 2nd contracts.
It's overpaying based on the cap %. The numbers are in on that. Teams with QB's that make over a certain percent (I think it's 15% but could be lower) almost never make it to and win a SB. Soooo yeah, it's overpaying even if the market wants to pay them. Numbers don't lie.How is that overpaying? That's just paying. It's basically what everyone expected for a top tier QB...some percentage higher than the last "biggest contract ever". Burrows will be 5% higher than Hurts. The next guy will be 5% higher than Burrow. Etc, etc.
It's not overpaying, it's just the price of QBs on an ever upward sliding scale. Only other option would be to move on from him
Well, it definitely helps to have QBs on a rookie contract. It's overpaying based on the cap %. The numbers are in on that. No he wasn't. He wasn't even a top 10 reason they lost. He WAS a top 3 reason they nearly won it.Almost.
He was a big reason they lost it.
Very interesting way to cope with the past few decades of early playoff exits.Doesn't hurt nearly as bad as losing in a Super Bowl. No way.
Apparently. So he plays on last year of current deal and new deal takes effect in 2024 or he gets money now?
Huh? This HELPS the ravens.Baltimore is preparing an explosive device to be delivered into Philly headquarters.
Lamar is loving this.

Yeah...I can't disagree here.I would never pay a QB in today's market unless they were a bonafide future hall of fame type talent like Burrow or Herbert.
Pick one in the first round, play 4 years with them, pick up the 5th year option, turn and burn if they are good but not great. Build a contending roster around the player and just slot in the next 1st rounder. After enough tries, you should have gotten lucky and gotten one of those top guys or have won a Superbowl with a good starter on a cheap rookie deal.
Why NFL GMs are too afraid to emulate the SanFran model is very confusing to me.
They're just dudes afterall.Wow! You would think that Hurts won a championship for Dallas with all the praise, love and admiration.

SanFran is a seesaw team.Purdy will be better in the training room

And even if Lance is better this year, that still can mean he plays subpar. There’s a large spectrum of what improvement can mean. Picking up Sam Darnold may be one of the smartest moves of the offseason
Completely different eras. Each of those players also had an elite arm and could burn you with their legs. They did not have to in order for the rest of their game to function.Steve Young, John Elway, Roger Dodger say hi.
