Eagles Tank this week to hurt Giants?

Tanking, it’s an ugly word, in football
It’s never never the smart move. It will come back to haunt you.
The media has turned into a joke.
It’s much more likely that the Eagles rest players for the playoffs due to their bye week being all the way back in week 5. Calling it tanking is just spin to get people enraged IMO.

If we start Pickett, then that becomes very possible. Dude is not good
I would bet Hurts plays. Too much is on the line for Philly. Then again, they could rest him and beat the Giants next week to win the division. The Giants are clearly tanking as hard as any team in the league.

2013 was pretty bad. Chiefs took Eric Fischer first overall.

The rest of it stunk as well. Travis Frederick may have been the best player in that whole draft.

This is why you’ve gotta at least try in free agency if you expect to get better.
Deandre Hopkins, Keenan Allen, Kelce, Leveon Bell, Lane Johnson, Ertz. There was some talent to be had.

Yes true. I wasn’t clear about it but I basically meant the guys projected to go at the very top, inspired by the comment “it’s a bad year to be bad,” and the whole concept of tanking.

This year, there will be those mid round gems per usual, but as of now it doesn’t much seem as if there’s going to be a whole lot of difference between picking 6-8 vs 12-15.

Getting further upset by “ruining draft position” seems a little futile this time.

Well I wouldn't blame the eagles for playing 2nd+ stringers and letting veterans sit.

oh for sure. it was a weird draft and most of the high end talent came at odd points. i'm with ya

They win this week they should rest the starters. Nothing to do with the Giants.

It's always better to pick toward the front.

Picking a draft at random, 2018. Using your philosophy, getting Josh Allen(7th) is just as good as getting Josh Rosen(10th).

There's no guarantees, I know, everyone knows. However, it's really naive to think that picking toward the front isn't better.

In many seasons, dropping your last two games could vault you several spots into the top ten. This year, it’s mathematically impossible for them to get a top ten pick, and also very unlikely that they sink below 14-15.

Yes, 11 is better than 15, but does it really much matter to the point where we have to go nuts over it? I’d say probably not.

Since there's no Payton Manning or John Elway in this draft it don't matter if they pick 1st or 2nd.
Sanders or Cam Ward will be a Giant next season.
Cam Ward is a punk, and it will serve him right to get drafted by the Giants.

Adam Schefter thinks The Eagles should not let Barkley get the record, and lose on purpose to the Giants. Why? So that the Giants would not get a chance to draft a top tier QB.

This is next level stuff and should make a lot of you “tankers” happy…

Aren't the Eagles still playing for a bye?

Yes…it’s not a very likely scenario. They need to win their last 2, have GB beat Min this week, and then have Lions lose to SF this week and also lose to the Vikings next week. Probably won’t happen, but since the games they need help on won’t happen until after they play today’s game, they won’t rest players that can play today.

Lane Johnson probably the best player from that draft. Of course he fell to the Eagles. ** Eagles.

Go nuts over it? No. Prefer it? Yes.

I haven't begun perusing the draftees yet. I always wait until the season is over. Some years 11 is tons better than 15, some years it doesn't matter.

JJ Watt was drafted at 11. Robert Quinn went at 14, Kerrigan at 16, those were the next 2 DEs taken. Monumental difference. Yes, that's just one year.

I'm thinking you're forgetting the Travis Kelce was in the draft, as well as Deandre Hopkins.
