I can't believe that this is the case.

I trust Foles to win at least one of two games.

Romo, though it is his pattern (win one, lose one) I think we lose 2 straight

Well, the Eagles lost last week, so if I'm not mistaken, if the Cowboys beat the Skins and the Bears lose, then they're ahead of the Eagles based on the division record...and common opponents. I believe the whole scenario is if the Eagles lose against the Bears. Eagles win...and then Eagles game will determine the division winner.

I think it's pretty clear cut of what needs to happen. Right now we're 7-7 and the Eagles are 8-6. Here are the scenarios:

1) If we beat the Commanders and the Eagles lose to the Bears we'll both be 8-7 and then whoever wins the head to head matchup next week will be the division winner at 9-7. Actually If we beat the Commanders it won't even matter what the Eagles do against the Bears because there is no way the Eagles can clinch or be eliminated in week 16 if we win in Washington.

2) If we lose to the Commanders and the Eagles beat the Bears then we'll be 7-8 and the Eagles will be 9-6 then next week's game will be meaningless because the Eagles would have already clinched the division.

3) If we lose to the Commanders and the Eagles lose to the Bears then we'll still be one game back and then the winner of next week will take the division because if we beat them and tie them at 8-8 we'll clinch due to being 2-0 head to head.

Cousins played well enough last week that I have real concerns the Boys DBs will be challenged deep.

Yes, it's the exact same scenario, starting with the Eagles in 2009 (they won)... 2010 (clusterfudge)... 2011 Giants loss... 2012 Skins (loss)... It's only right the Cowboys end the season against the Eagles and redeem themselves. At least I hope.
This isn't college football. Division record and common opponents are only used as tiebreakers. The Eagles are 8-6 and the Cowboys are 7-7.
Eagles win, Dallas loses - Eagles are 9-6 Dallas 7-8 - Dallas eliminated
Eagles win, Dallas wins - Eagles are 9-6, Dallas 8-7 - Final game for division, because if Dallas beats Philly, they are tied a-t 9-7 and Dallas wins tiebreakers
Eagles lose, Dallas lose - Eagles are 8-7, Dallas 7-8 - Final game for division, because if Dallas beats Philly, they are tied at 8-8 and Dallas wins tiebreakers
Eagles lose, Dallas wins - Eagles are 8-7, Dallas 8-7 - Final game for division

There going to get close to 40 on us. We will never stop there running game and our pass defense is as bad as I have ever seen in the nfl. Its comical at this point.

Our goose is cooked sunday.

Only the jones family could one up the Snyder families nonsense. what the Commanders are going through is insane and yet they are going to kick our teeth in and knock us out of the playoffs.

No big deal though, Jerry and Stephen will enjoy it.

Agreed. Since Dallas plays before Philly this weekend, if Dallas loses, Philly could rest their starters because their game vs the Bears would be meaningless. Their are articles online about this. Chip Kelly said he would play his starters anyway against the Bears no matter what Dallas does in the early game.

Which is exactly what that game was so painful to lose.

The same could be said about any other game before that. The loss didn't immediately put us in or out, and it didn't keep us from controlling our fate. Similarly a win would not have put Philly out, or keep them from controlling their fate either. It was just another game, already forgotten except for Romo haters who have it on 24/7 spin on their DVR.

This is wrong as well. If Dallas loses and Eagles beat the Bears, week 17 is meaningless. But if Eagles lose to the Bears week 17 is a playoff game.

Yea we cant back in under any scenario, we need two wins.

We can sort of back in if both teams lose this weekend. We would still have to beat Philly, but both teams losing this weekend will not eliminate Cowboys.

It was unlike any other game before it. We did not have 26-3 leads to blow in any of them.

Sorry, you are correct. I meant to say if Dallas beats Washington, the Bears game is meaningless.

well winning the final game wouldn't be backing in though. backing in is if the eagles lost like 5 in a row and we lost 4 and 7-9'd our way in or something.

its not happening anyway.

I do not see winning the final game as backing in. It is taking the extremely difficult way in, but it is not "backing in".

At this stage, and given our recent history in similar games, that would be a huge development and a step forward for the franchise.

Philly will only rest their starters if the Cowboys win their game. I'll be surprised if Kelly choose to play all of his starters if Cowboys took care of business in DC. In 2011, Giants beat the Jets right after the Cowboys started playing their game. Once the Cowboys found out about the Giants victory (and Romo injured hand), they sat their key starters for the rest of the game.

Every game is unique. If you're trying to imply that it was the worst loss of the season, it definitely was. But the Detroit game, where if Smith doesn't commit just an inexcusable, unheard of penalty we win, wasn't much better. It's also extremely stupid to lose when you score 48 points, regardless of who the opponent is. Maybe I should have said it's just another loss for the Cowboys.

For all of us that were ready to jump off a tall building last week, we should not be surprised if this does come to pass. We are simply too beaten up and too talent challenged on defense to hope for much in either game.

I would not be surpised to see the "skins win by 20 or more points, or for us to win on a last second 3 pointer. I predict they will be a better team with Cousins playing.
