That would be the ultimate soul crusher. We don't even lose the win or go home game and still don't make the playoffs.

I was probably unclear, but if we tie then we do advance. It's the situation the Eagles could avoid if we win Sunday.

The season was over at halftime of the saints game! Thats when we were shown this is a bottom 12 team. Anytime you have no shot at winning the sb the season is a bust. Let alone being basically handed the nfce and still losing it! lol this organization is a joke!

Bottom 12? Um no.

Say what you will, but it is sad and very unfortunate that there are some many fans hoping for losses in the next few weeks. I might not agree with it - but I can certainly understand why they think this way. This organization is broken...

Some fans just cant take Garrett's incompetence anymore and missing the playoffs is the only way to get rid of Garrett.............alot of fans would rather lose the division just so Garrett is fired............that is how much he is hated right now.

Here is the funny (?) thing. Two of my friends in particular are HUGE NFL fans. Not just fans of their favorite teams, I mean these two guys are NFL fans. They didnt miss a minute of the Jaguars/Texans Thurs night game, as an example. And from 9AM to midnight on Sundays, both guys...non stop NFL on TV.

Now to the funny thing...Sunday night after the Packers debacle, I got an email from each friend and here is a copy/paste of their first sentences.

1. Dude, that game was unreal, you better pray for a new head coach.
2. Garrett throwing the ball so much with the lead shows he is one of the 5-7 worst NFL head coaches.

I like this except the last sentence even if it's true.

Dear Mamacita: I added the last line so as to not jinx the cowboys. I half to be careful with words as my PO is monitoring this forum.
Let us just say we should hope for the best and that Oh No Romo finds his footing (literally) and does not resort to QB plays that made me famous, as a child, in the sandlot next to the cabbage boiling plant.

This is how I feel mostly. For the sake of the players and coaches that will return, I really feel like a Week 17 loss must be avoided at all costs. Sure, the media will have a bit of fun with a loss to Washington as well but it will die much quicker. I worry for someone like Dez, he takes it so hard. Worry about Romo for obvious reasons. Just can't see a Week 17 loss being good for anyone.

Dez takes it hard, yes. But, HELLO, so does Cowboy fans. And we don't get do-overs to esplain ourselves after we act like a clown. We just smile and hope no one was watching our tantrums.

False. We'd be tied with the Eagles going into Week 17.

Mods, can my original post have a link to where I admitted I did not take that into consideration. It might save a lot of people the trouble of correcting me after I already admitted the mistake.

There's probably a few. But I get your point. And I agree with you. Jerry needs to stop giving inexperienced guys a shot at head coach. It might work in Jacksonville or Buffalo, but not when you're talking the Dallas Cowboys.

I think its more likely that the Cowboys and Eagles both lose.

As much crap as the cowboys get, the NFC east is terrible this year. Eagles have just as many flaws.
